Draught @ Alibi. Golden. A light continental hop nose. On the palate, more continental hops and a fair amount of heavy pale malts., Some diacetyl...they say it’s allowable for the style but I still don’t like it.

Who the hell knew Port Moody had microbreweries? The alibi room, apparently. Has a very soft malt aroma, modest head with lacing, good gold body. Flavour is great -lemon, grain, malt, balanced with hints of rice and orange. Really smart. I often wonder how many microbreweries Vancouver can handle, and I have to say so far that the quality and competition is fierce.

On tap at Twin Sails, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is very restrained, with notes of bready malt and toasted nuts. Flavour is very dry, with crusty bready malts and some earthy notes. Fairly dull, really, with not a whole lot going on. Inoffensive, but bland as hell.

On tap at Twin Sails, pours a cloudy murky orangey brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of banana and clove upfront, with some toasted nuts. Flavour is along the same lines, with notes of banana dominating, followed by clove and a touch of bready malt. A banana bomb with a bit too many fruity esters. Decent but not a superior weizen.

On tap at Twin Sails, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malts and some nuttiness. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted nuts, bready malt and a nice crisp dryness to the finish. Well-balanced and correctly brewed to style. Solid.

On tap at Twin Sails, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of bready malt and toasted nuts. Flavour is fairly full and well-balanced, with toasted nuts, bready malt and a touch of hops to balance. Very well-balanced and full-flavoured, like an amped up German alt. Very good.

Draft - Light grains. Clear copper gold with a nice white head. Grains and some vegetal notes. Easy drinking and light, although vegetal notes throw off the nice light balance.

Draft - Grains and dark malts. Deep jet brown with a thin white head. Dark malts, roasty notes and some toast. Light on the palate but rich in the taste, much like an English Porter.
