50cl bottle. Pours dark reddish brown colour with a mid-sized beige head. Aroma of dark malt, red fruits, caramel. Taste of dark malt, molasses, red fruits, mild hops, some alcohol.

Bottle(von der Ottosäule!): Deep ruby-amber coloured, medium-sized creamy off-white head; some herbal-hoppy spots in the moderately sweet caramelly and (brown-) bready nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; slightly lingering sweet caramelly and mildly dry hoppy finish. Nothing spectacular, but a very well balanced Bock of nearly franconian quality…

Mildly bready malty aroma with notes of butter and caramel, even traces of smoke in the background, backed by delicately flowery hops. Moderately sweet and discreetly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft and well-matured carbonation. Hearty malt character with notes of biscuits, caramel and buttery accents; sweet malty and delicately bitter hoppy finish with a whiff of caramel and shades of smoke in the aftertaste. (bottle) Stout-like appearance with a mahogany coloured hue and a beige and firm mid-sized foamy head. Dark malty and slightly earthy and roasted aroma with traces of dried fruits, backed by piney, spicy and subtle citric hops. Moderately sweet and mildly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Dark and slightly roasted malty taste with traces of dark chocolate, earthy notes and ashes/burnt wood, again accompanied by present hoppy accents, giving the brew a moderate balance and level of bitterness; sweet-bitter dark malty finish with a resiny and slightly fruity hoppy tail. 07.III.16
