A nice stout with a solid body. Notes of coffee, toast, licorice and - of course - oats. The licorice makes the taste a little sweet for my liking.

(Can) Pours very dark brown with ruby highlights and a small tan head. Nice aroma of toasted malt and nuts. Light body with plenty of bright carbonation. Taste, like aroma, has nice toasted malt and nuts. There’s some initial modest tartness. There’s no sweetness and very little bitterness. Very drinkable.

Can. Very dark brown with a good cm of light tan head. Lots of smoke and some medicinal touches in the aroma with dark sugars and hints of prunes. Smooth texture with moderate carbonation. Smoke is a little less full upon a taste with sweet caramelised malts and light bitterness. Perhaps the recipe has been rejigged because I found the smoke a bit much.

375ml can into tulip. From Porters Liquor, Bexley. Clean fresh nose, some caramel. Brown/red beer with a frothy thin head. Smooth with a medium body. Taste is cocoa with a finish reminiscent of Turkish delight. Nice beer, easy drinking and tasty.

Kinda drinks like the label. Fairly one dimensional old school West Coast IPA. Well balanced. Aromas of pine needle, biscuit, lemon and even a little egg. Similar in the mouth

(Can - doesn’t mention Frankie’s Pizza and is 4.9%) Pours clear golden with good white head. Aroma is slightly perfumed candy - odd but not unpleasant. Body is light with bright carbonation. Taste is odd, not unpleasant but also not pleasant, but kind of interesting. There’s watermelon flavour rather like a watermelon sweet right through the palate, but on its own at the start. On the mid palate it is relieved by some bready malt and vegetable notes which all fit together quite well. However, in the finish some hop bitterness develops with does not sit well with the watermelon lolly taste. Interesting but not one I would buy again.
