Sandy started his brewing career in the Isle of Man before returning to his native Scotland to complete the Brewing and Distilling Degree at Heriot Watt University. In his third year he was also the in-house brewer at the Hanging Bat which included collabs with the likes of Six Degrees North.
Once the four year course was complete he took a brewing position at Fallen Brewing Co. before moving on to head up recipe development and barrel aging at Black Isle Brewing Co. Having recently relocated to 71 Brewing in Dundee, Sandy has taken the opportunity to launch his own project, showcasing innovative and cutting edge beers while still drawing inspiration from classic brewing philosophies.

Sample thanks to Grumbo. Pours unclear orange, no head. Aroma of mango and passionfruit smoothie, continues to taste, medium bodied with a slick mango juice mouthfeel, pulpy moments, quite sweet. Decent.

9/8/2025. Can shared at ITFC beer share. Bought direct from the brewery. Very peachy aroma, peach skin, tinned peach syrup, creamy notes. Medium sweetness, light tartness. Medium plus body, smooth, average carbonation. Enjoyed this.

Can from the Rheged Centre near Penrith - finally found a beer from Renfrewshire, yay! Brown-black with a thin tan head. Smells of cocoa and blackberries with some roasty malt. Taste is initially sooty and tart - bit of an odd combination. Big fruits come through - yes, definitely strawberry jam and fresh blueberries - along with some burnt toast. A little chocolate in the jammy finish. It's a really interesting brew; I'm not sure the flavours quite meld together, but I enjoyed it anyway because it was so different. Happy days!
