Fresh, Fun, Approachable, Hop-Forward

Hey there! We're Offshoot Beer Co. from your friends at The Bruery. Offshoot is the Bruers' playground, where we dive deep into the world of hop-forward beers. While we could definitely geek out on the intricacies of making these beers, we'd rather just open a cold one and...Relax.

What is Offshoot?

Years ago our founder Patrick Rue made a promise to NEVER brew an IPA. As time went on, our adventurous Bruers KNEW they could make world class hop-forward beers, so Offshoot was born as an offshoot of The Bruery, all while keeping Patrick's promise that The Bruery would NEVER make an IPA.

Where The Bruers Relax

Offshoot is what The Bruers drink when they're off the clock. Nothing better to help you Relax, Escape, Retreat, or Coast.

Can thanks to William. Pours a hazy gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is melon, pineapple, grapefruit pith, grass. Slick body, tropical fruit, dank, light resin finish, very good.

Got in a trade with RaulMondesi. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/30/2018. Pours moderately hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance; and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is an excellent NEIPA. All around great citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter finish. Great soft feel. Citra, Centennial, Simcoe and Amarillo hops. Not quite as tropical as I expected for that hop bill, mostly citrus/stone fruits. Very juicy, lightly dank hop complexity; great balanced malt backbone, mild residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Can at home in Hackney - cheers to Blipp! Pours unclear orange-gold with a modest, frothy white head. Nice melon and tangerine in the aroma. Medium sweet flavour, some bready pale malts, mild rindy bitterness, juicy tangerine and melon, some grapefruit, peach, strawberry. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nice finish, fairly juicy even more, more melon and peach and tangerine. Quite solid overall. Quite drinkable.

16oz can at Paradiso Georgetown, pours a pulpy orange with some soft, white head. Nose has citrus, more zest than juice, orange and grapefruit primarily, some grasses, dried herbs, a little catty. I liked the flavor, while this is a "hazy IPA" - it's not a juice bomb like every other beer out there, there's some light melon sweetness and grist, then orange peel, grass, hand soap, some herbs, lightly catty. Finishes mostly full bodied, bitter and dry. A throwback cloaked in a new school package.

Pours from a can a cloudy yellow-orange color with a medium thick frothy white head that recedes gradually to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of tropical fruit, floral hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, floral hop and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Crowler. Poured a super hazy yellow-orange color with a smalll off-white head. Aroma was super juicy, lots of floral notes. Low hop bitterness. Juicy. Alcohol is pretty well hidden, but it's there.
