Bottle. Amber-brown beer with a tan head. Caramel and grapefruit aroma. Caramel and grapefruit flavor with spice and light pine. Medium-plus bodied. Caramel and light nuttiness linger with light roast, grapefruit, light spice, and light pine.

Pours mostly clear deep amber. The aroma is of toffee, malt, and alcohol. The flavor is quite sweet with toffee, plums, booze, and malt. It’s full bodied and fairly good though not the best barley wine.

$4.99 bottle at Trader Joe's. Can't beat that. Fizzy tan head over a deep and opaque brown body. Smell is malty, just a bit light for a heavier style. Taste is malty too, but little more than a caramel roast. An alcohol burn is making itself known on my tongue. I blame the kettle chips I was eating. Settles into a decent, boozy beer, except for some burn still hitting the back of my palate. Still appropriate to enjoy on my 63rd birthday.

Okay, but boozy, even for 9%. Lots of alcohol on the front end, along with toffee, cocoa, candy apple, and pine, followed by citrus pith and a lingering pine bitterness on the back end. Decent, but a little too assertive with the sweetness and ABV.

Bomber from Trader Joe's in Davis, CA. Pours very dark and ruddy mahogany with a decent beige head. Aroma of heavy toffee with some citrus hints. Med plus body. Flavor is darkish toffee with bits of grapefruit zest and suggestions of dark fruits. Not sticky, but not dry. Bitter enough for the malt level. Not ale of the year, but pretty good stuff.

Vanilla and chocolate. Dark brown pour with little head. Some roast. Kind of gimmicky on overall flavour. Bottle from Trader Joe's.

Large bottle (Bomber) all to myself on 24th February 2022 while eating a salad and other 'stuff' at my daughters in Laguna Hills. Dark mahogany body, off-white/beige head, slight haziness on each of my three pours. Nose is malty molasses with a raisin/berry twist, taste similar with a earthy/woody and light bitterness to it's nature, not as sweet as the aroma suggests.

Bomber from Trader Joe's. Black pour with waning brown head. Just like their chocolate Babka stout, this is on the money for taste. Not as sweet as the Babka, but plenty of chocolaty notes, light coffee. Nice feel overall as well. Price point is attractive at $3.99. Good bargain.

Bomber from Trader Joe's. Near black pour, creamy beige head. Head lasts and provides a nice cap throughout. Aroma is chocolate, reminiscent of Hershey's syrup. Taste is sweet chocolate, sugary, faint bitterness. Overall, kind of thick and creamy.

Large bottle (US pint and 6 \Fl Oz) from a Trader Joe's. Drank on 11th December 2021 while staying at my daughters place in California. Black bodied, weak tanned head that turned into a wispy covering very swiftly. Strong coffee and peanut butter aroma and taste, just as the label intimates. It's rather sweet but it I liked it.
