50cl bottle pours a clear yellow with one ring of fading head. Smells of trash, corn, hay, rotted then dried lemon peel. Flavor is OK, sweet, grass, corn. Watery finish. Non-offensive, but not good.

50cl bottle. Slightly hazy gold, thin white head. Smells like old hay that was wetted and left to rot, stale bread, spent yeast from a fermenter. Taste is overly sweet, canned corn, some hay, some cheap malt extract. Watery finish.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, cardboard, brewing cereal, and metal, leading to a dry metallic finish. The body is light.

What does a beer rater due when stuck in Uganda for two months? Search out obscure beers of course. This one is not too bad. 33cl bottle pours a burn gold or honey color with a thin, creamy white head. Nose is mostly bread, a little light toast, some light honey, a touch grassy. The flavor starts with a sweet maltiness, but that fermented corn flavor kicks in and ruins the party. It’s mostly sweet, even the finish is a tad slick, with just a touch of diluted orange zest. It won’t be the next beer craze, but in Kampala, this isn’t that bad.

Bottled, made in Juba, southern Sudan, many thanks to Bierkrug for this new country! Pale golden, brief head. Maize aroma. Sweet and fruity, light bodied and not very firm. Some alcohol manages to seep through the adjunct ladden flavour. Low bitterness. Pretty much what you can expect from an SABMiller product in one of the poorest corners of the world.
