Description
Centuries of brewing tradition, the best ingredients and strict compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 are quality that you can taste with every sip! The Rittmayer Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in Forchheimer Land. The family business dates back to 1422. The brewery even received its own coat of arms certificate from the Count of Kulmbach because of its good beer.
In spring 2012, our new brewery on the outskirts of Hallerndorf went into operation right next to our filling center. It is one of the most innovative medium-sized breweries in all of Germany.

On tap at Wirtshaus HΓΌtt'n, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a nice grassy hop bite, biscuity malt, and a sweet cereal malt character. Flavour has a great cerealy sweet malt base, along with plenty of grassy hop bite. Really digging the malt character here. Very good.

Bottle form Raynville Superstore I believe. It pours clear rich deep copper - brown with a thick, fluffy off - white head. The aroma is rich and toothy, big smokey and meaty vibes, honey glazed ham, smokey bacon crisps, touch caramel, cola cubes and brown bread. The taste is dry and toasty upfront, bitter - sweet, pleasingly firm smoke, slightly medicinal, dry oak, earth, leather, toasted nut, ryvita and brown bread with a toasty and smokey finale. Average body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. This is right up my street. Robust and bitter. Flavourful.

Golden pour with a fluffy (but not very lasting) white head. Aromas of malt, sweet bread. Taste is bread, malt, herbs, a hint of lemon. Not bad, but also not mindblowing.

The over all vibe of this reminds me more of a Vienna more than a kellerbier. Looks like an amber as well. Malt, light caramel. Decent head. Some rust in the finish, light butter. Can from Costco calendar.

Bottle from the Lidl bumper bundle. Good pour, but everything else is a bit meh. It's OK, ticks all the boxes and that's about it. Perfectly drinkable but nothing special.

Bottle from the Lidl fest pack. It pours clear yellow with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, doughy white bread, biscuit, oatcakes, bread & butter pudding, pain aux raisin and some custard creams. The taste is fairly crisp, bitter - sweet, buttered bread, bread & butter pudding, pain aux raisin, touch of fruitiness, pear, apple pie, grass and leaf with a drying finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. A touch sweet and buttery perhaps, but drinks fine.

Pleasant malty, citrusy aroma with some faint metallic accent, decant white foam and presents clear, golden colour. Full bodied, malty, bready with citrusy fruitiness. Herbal bitterness straight away. Relaxing.

Clear dark golden colour, medium sized dense ecru-ish white head; aroma of grainy, bread crusty, herbal and even slight vanilla notes; taste of hoppy bittery, bread crusty-rye bready, green herbal and slight metallic notes; quite good one

Well thatβs a bonus. Thought Iβd ticked this. Bottle. Lidl box. Clear gold. Decent white foam. Was better when topped up with a hard pour. Nose has sweet-ish grain. Whiff of sourness. Ever so slightly metallic. Taste is pretty sweet up front with a bit more of the metallic thing in the bitterness. Feels a bit heavy on the palate with quite low carbonation. Bitter finish. Not the best from this box so far, by quite a way.
