Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. The beer is a golden-orange color with a medium white head and strings of lace. Aroma of fruity hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter citrusy hops character and notes of tropical fruit and malt. The finish is hoppy with a fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Light body with flavors of toasted malt and grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above overall.

Drank in Denver for GABF 2012. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sticky white head. A big citrus nose, some light Amarillo. The flavor is sweet, grassy, lemons, pretty dry. Smooth. Easy to drink.

Drank in Denver for GABF 2012. One of the more interesting beer. Pours a pure black color with a small white head. A huge nose of brandy and coffee. The flavor is super sweet brandy, figs, tobacco, coffee, spices. Very good and harmonious.

On tap. Pours with a hazed yellow hue with a white head. Aromas are of coriander, spicy phenols, orange peel, fragrant, floral, spicy, bready malt/wheat character, medium esters. Flavors are bready, floral, wheat, vanilla. Medium esters, low phenol. Very dry. Herbal. Very nice maltiness. Medium bubbles, bone dry.

On tap. Pours with a few hop particles in an otherwise pretty clear golden hued body. Huge white head that is very retentive. Aromas are dank, herbal, grassy, light melon, sweet (perceived) fruity hop notes. A bit centennial like as well. Low pine and even lower malt character (fine by me). Flavors are somewhat fruity, medium herbal, grassy, low spice, pine, medium co humulone. Nothing excessive. Pretty interesting hop, not bad, but I don’t see myself seeking it out. Low malt that is a bit grainier than most of Julian’s IPAs. Crisp and clean with a medium bitterness that lasts. Slightly bitter balance, a touch of alcohol. Fuller carbonation with a dry finish.

Draft. Amber beer with a dark cream head. Grapefruit and pine aroma with summer fruit. Grapefruit and pine flavor with rich malt. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine lingers with rich malt.

On tap. Pretty spot on for the style. Pours with a crystal clear yellow hued body with a thick and retentive white head. Aromas are very floral, spicy hop, some bready malt. Very herbal, light phenol. Flavors show more esters. Medium bitter, a touch of musty phenol, earthy, lightly poached pear, but dead dry. Clean, light bready quality. Unassuming but quite tasty. Medium lively carbonation, bone dry, alcohol balance but otherwise well hidden. Very good execution.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a nearly clear, pal yellow body (a bit hazier than usual). White head lasts on top and leaves very good lace. Aromas are of tangerines, cantaloupe, light mint, lightly grainy, spicy pine, low ester. Flavors show a dry and crackery grainy malt character, medium citrus and hop resin, medium citrus. Lighter hop character than some other Alpha Beachwood beers. Medium bitter, well balanced with a soft character overall. Great pale as expected.
