Tap@MBCC May 2017, Copenhagen - pours black with a tan head. Roasted and sweet malty with chocolate, coffee, caramel, burnt dark malty, some bourbon notes, very overt sweet vanilla into the finish.

Tap@MBCC May 2017, Copenhagen - pours golden amber with a white head. Comprises sweet tropical fruits, prominent grapefruit, tangerine, citrus peel, good malty backbone, caramel, toffee, hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Opaque dark brown slightly dusty pour with thin dissipating tan head. Aroma is strong raspberry, chocolate, vanilla, alcohol burn. Like a boozy Black Forest cake. Impressive if not my favorite flavor. Taste is similar - sharp berry tart, some dark cocoa, alcohol. Not as huge as the chili version? Very sweet from the berries. Vanilla maybe more present as a result (than in the chili one). Interesting but wouldn’t get again except maybe as dessert.

Big thanks! 330 ml. Bottle split by two @ “HKHK” Tasting. The chili version was great but this one doesn’t work. Raspberry is badly integrated, oddly strangely vegetable, other one wasn’t the thickest RIS but it worked but this comes across as thin, flat, vegetable with plastic, herbal. Disappointing. Dark brown, not black, little head. Nose is odd thin plastic & vegetable raspberry jam, herbal mocha & cacao. Taste is odd, flat plastic, vegetable, herbal, herbal mocha, cocoa, oddly alcoholic in the finish. Too bad, expected far more but this didn’t succeed.

Big thanks! 330 ml. Bottle split by two @ “HKHK” Tasting. Clear apple golden with basically no head. Whole has little carbonation, lacks it. Smell is too mineral, salty, green apple, sour candy, sea salt, low sour green apple. Taste is weird sour lemon, green apple, sour candy with too heavy mineral, salt character. Very one-dimensional. Weird profile, excessive, interesting concept but the execution is a comical overly salty strange lemonade, green apple, candy,… Reminded me a bit of Sixpoint Jammer.

Rating #6300 in Hong Kong: Crisp golden and peach coloured body with a bit of amber and copper coloured tints along with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetres tall tan head. Aroma of grass, light malt, a hint of citrus, salt, metal and a big dose of rice and sour grain, but mostly is the salt and brine smells - nice indeed. Medium-bodied; Assertive briney and salted flavour of citrus and melons at first with a bigger dose of light malt, citrus, grass, earth, melons, fruits and more salt - all pungent, but shows fairly nicely. Aftertaste hinges more on the melons, fruits and especially salt than anything else. Overall, an interesting take on the style, but from an Interesting place and well within the realms of the style, with a much more saltier version than i’ve ever had, but works out well here in Hot, Summertime Hong Kong. I sampled this 33 cL bottle as Rating #6300 , purchased from City’Super! at Two IFC in the IFC Mall in Hong Kong [island] on 29-July-2017 for HK$30,00 sampled in my hotel room here right before leaving back for the other side of the earth in Washington on 04-August-2017 in Admiralty, Hong Kong [island]. Glad to have Rating #6300 here in the best place on Earth - Hong Kong, plus a special beer (Gose) in a hot/humid environment!

Crisp copper and bronze coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grassy hops, a good deal of earthier malts, a hint of citrus and some alcohol notes. Medium-bodied; Earthy malt flavours with a good deal of cardboard, some alcohol and grain with grasses and only a touch of hops, mostly from the staler side of things without much alpha acids at all. Aftertaste shows more of the earthier and malt side of things instead of any hops and pungency, but some of the alcohol and toffee/caramelised sugars come through. Overall, an interesting beer that shows malt, alcohol and caramel, but not as much hops as I’d expect for the style and perhaps a bit too little for this to be categorised in this style, even here in the East. Crisp copper and amber coloured body with a thick, two to three centimetre tall pale off-white head. Aroma of pungent bright hops, some noticeable malt and funk and a dose of pine and spices right at the finish. Medium-bodied; Assertive fresh hop flavours at first with a dose of grain, alcohol, toffee and toast along with some more subdued fruit and sweet flavours with caramelised sugars, grain and more fresh hops noticeable at the end. Aftertaste is rich and robust with the fresh hops coming out at first then giving way to the toffee and toast complexities. Overall, a nice offering with a good profile and solid complexity throughout. Great to see and taste the fresh hops on display here as well! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased a few minutes ago at Jason’s Market Place at Happy Valley Racecourse on Hong Kong [island] on 02-August-2017 for HK$29,00 sampled a few minutes later while my kids were on the playground there, across the street on the island on 02-August-2017.
