Draught @ Cafe Albert. Pours black with small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, almonds, bourbon. Flavor is sweet, roast malt, chocolate, light spice, light vanilla, cinnamon, bourbon. Full body, soft carbonation, sweet light spiced finish. 081125

16 oz can. Aroma is berries, grape juice, a little funk coming out after it warms up a bit, overripe berries, freezer burnt berries. Pours murky dark purple, like puréed berries, with an immediately collapsing purple head. Taste is moderately tart and fairly sweet with flavors of berries and grape juice. Not really getting the vanilla. The freezer burnt off-notes really bring this down, although it’s not bad.

Taste comprises tangy raspberries, hint of cinnamon, mellow acidic flicker, grass, hedgerow.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering edge.
Okay pastry sour.
