I am not sure where or when I got this bomber of 903 Bordeaux barrel aged imperial stout but I suspect it came from the craft beer store in Odessa. In any case I am glad to have it and now to try it. It pours into my Buffalo Bayou snifter a deep, dark, black liquid finished by a healthy top of medium brown foam dispersing into a skim. The smell is bit different, certainly some chocolate and coffee but some other influence, perhaps the barrel. The first drink, now that is an improvement. Milk chocolate is an appropriate description, strawberry, toasted bread, and toffee. Not a strong input from the barrel aging but the brew is definitely tasty. Decently bitter at the end, the label does not give the ABV but whatever it is, it is certainly covered up. I would buy again if it ever shows up.

An imperial stout will always get my attention. One from Texas, hell yeah. I got a six pack of Sasquatch in the can from the Cellar sometime back. This is my first try. Lift the tab and tilt into my ABGB tulip glass. The appearance, not that different from most if not all imperial stouts, glorious. Blacker than the ace of spades with a healthy pitch brown head, nice. The scent, milk chocolate and strawberry jam. Now a drink. Nice again, lightly chocolate, coal, straw, toffee sweet, a firm bitterness surrounding. Softer than many of its kind, still quite good.

Bomber shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a thick and viscous, deep brown with a small beige head that dissipates. Lots of milk chocolate in the nose with some faint coffee undertones as it warms and a light vinous quality with some faint cherry aromas. Smooth and creamy on the palate, nice big, chunky body with sweet chocolate, berry notes and vinous oak flavors. Lingering chocolate, fruit and faint mineral on the finish. Quite solid overall and abv hidden well. Good barrel character without being overly tart or sour.
