Born in Belgium (not very far from the famous Orval Abbey ...), a country with a strong brewing culture, Beer, and especially its environment and its manufacture have awakened in me this passion that has followed me since my youngest age. Dark chestnut beer with almost no head. Watery nose, a bit of coloured malts. Aggressive, burning malts in the taste with a bit of licorice and a lot of molasses. Ending very watery. Medium but giving a very light impression, certainly compared to the (unlikely) ABV. Sweet, light, unrefined - another one, coming straight from Du Bocq, probably?

Orange-amber beer, with just a white rim. Very weak, shy nose, with a bit of coloured malts, toasted. Faint malty, toasted taste, not much else. Dull. Light bodied, weak for a 7.5 % beer. Uninteresting to the point of bo-o-o-oring. Packaging and others lead Mark Struyf (BES) and myself to believe this might be straight from the Gauloise stable.

Orange-yellow beer with fast disappearing, very dense white head. Very citrussy nose: lemon- & orangezeste, and tangerines, some fresh yeast, certain garden bushes, blossomy. Sweet, with a marked spicey presence. Lots of coloured/ambrée malts, the finish being again very citrussy (orange mainly), as well as hints of vanilla. Slightly burning MF, aftertaste is sticky-sweet; up to medium bodied. Very nice nose, rest is a bit "forced". Packaging and others lead Mark Struyf (BES) and myself to believe this might be straight from the Gauloise stable.
