14/XI/15 - 33cl bottle @ De Brouwerij / Oude Maalderij (Izegem) - BB: 7/IX/09 (2015-1560)

One from the early days, probably very limited production. Clear orange beer, small creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, lots of small particles floating in the glass. Aroma: oxidized, orange peel, bit spicy, sweet, malty touch. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet, sugary, oxidized, orange peel, some almonds. Aftertaste: slightly bitter, sweet, orange peel, sugary, little spicy. Aged pretty well, beer hasn't gone completely bad (yet).

BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy amber, big creamy ivory head. Aroma has a nice white loaf crust note and some sweet-and-tart fruity fragrance. The taste has a bit of sweetness, but is mostly dry thanks to the spicy alcohol (that might be too strong at times). A good one, even if too hot.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy bright golden, huge white head. Delicate pale honey malts in the nose, along with some fruit and earthy hops with hints of garlic. The taste is similar, refreshing and easy drinking: honey malts, fruity, string herbal bitterness, which feels kept under controls by the residual sugars. Well done.

Bright clear gold beer, big fluffy white head. Palate is light and dry and has a fine crispness. Thin sweetish malts. Mild spice. A little lemon lifts it from dullsville. Dry finish. Fine.

330 ml. bottle. BBF 06/2016. Light hazy orange, small off-white head. Nose is other grains, orange peel, toffee, sugar, light odd metallic, touch plastic other grains. Taste is odd but somewhat enjoyable caramel plastic, oily toffee, other plastic grains, faint herbal, cheap candy, faint oily Turkish delight, caramel, butterscotch, oily, some butter in a fiting way,… Interesting, not bad, heavy on the oily, candy oily sweet with butterscotch & toffee. Interesting. Grains are buried in the toffee & oily Turkish delight but still noticeable. Kind of digging it.
