It all started with a humble homebrew kit and the drive to make better beer. Tired of the same bland and dated choices everywhere, Air Force friends Eric Wallace and Dick Doore set out to make the kind of beer that excited them; beer they wanted to drink. A hobby quickly became an obsession and it wasn't long before Left Hand Brewing opened for business on January 22, 1994. Left Hand has steadily increased its production, making the Brewers Association’s Top 50 Craft Brewers list in 2012.

404ml can. Poured a clear black colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, creamy milk. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a silky smooth, rich, creamy, chocolate, light liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Can from the ow Cost Beer online shop/ Hard pour black with a nitro beige head. It's like Guinness but with flavour. Chocolate milk and light roast. Light sweet finish.

Draught. Slightly hazy yellow colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is biscuits, some floral tones with mild tropical fruits, bitter grass and a bit spruce shoots. Flavour is pine, some grapefruits, mild tropical fruits and spruce to it. Smooth.

Can. Orangeish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is grassy, citrusy, some mild caramel with mild biscuity tones. Flavour is biscuity, some citrus, mild nectar and a bit wooden and herbal tones with a nice bitter finish.

Pint at Smokehouse BBQ in Grand Lake, CO. Hazyish, yellow color, with a fair, frothy, white head. The nose is grapefruit peel, mild gentian, peach, grass clippings, and straw. Sweet and kinda juicy, with a mellow, crisp bitterness. Light to medium body, biting, and a bit acidic. Reasonable.
