Description
In 1838 the Meisl brothers bought the Feldschlößchen mansion and estate near Dresden and began the construction of a lager brewery. In 1858 they founded the ‘Aktienbrauerei zum Feldschlößchen’. At the start of the 1960s the three Dresden breweries: Feldschlößchen, Felsenkeller and Waldschlößchen formed the state-owned company VEB Dresdner Brauereien. In 1979 the VE Drinks Combine for the Dresden District was formed which also included the new Dresden-Coschütz Brewery. After reunification in 1990 there was a reorganization and the founding of the Sächsischen Brau-Union (SBU). In 1992 the Holsten-Brauerei AG acquired the SBU which was renamed the Feldschlößchen Aktiengesellschaft Dresden in 1995. In 2004 Carlsberg acquired the majority of shares of Holsten. Since 2011 the Feldschlößchen brewery is back in eastern German hands when Carlsberg sold the brewery to TCB Beverages, a medium-sized brewery group,

Bottle: Glue, pale-malt and grassy hops in the nose; clear, pale-golden coloured, slowly diminishing firm head; quite dry bitter flavour, light bodied; grassy-bitter finish with traces of malt. Too "sharp", too unharmonic..........
Earlier Rating: 2/10/2008 Total Score: 2.7
Bottle: Golden, clear, visible carbonation, small and persistent white head; grainy-grassy, slightly sourish nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; a bit tart in the grassy, quite dry and bitter finish. a verage mass-market Pilsener, not too well matured...........

The bottle looks normal, the beer in the glass really good. Very zippy and much foam. Starts very spicy, a little bit alcoholic. Finish a bit vapid. Nevertheless very drinkable. Good beer!

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Dark ruby, smal head. Roasty coffee aroma. Drysih and light bodied with clean mouthfeel. A touch of coffee makes up theflavour together with light grassy hops and salt. The light body and clean mouthfeel yields a metallic edge. Salty finish with some bitterness. Simple and quite industrial.

The bottle looks not really good, the beer in the glass is okay. Good use of hops, the finish is malty-sweet, very intense. Drinkable beer!

Test vom 21.1.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,5,5,4,5,5 - 5,05

I don’t like the bottle, too modern. The beer in the glass dark, little bit red. Very sweet, seems to be chemical. Not a good beer.

The bottle looks like a cheap beer. The beer in the glass very light. Not so good. Chemical aroma, flavor the same. Drinkable, but not a good beer.
