Lahev (@My, Národní třída): Clear, deep golden, visible carbonation, loose ’n lacy off-white head, mild herbal-hoppy nose with a mineralic tinge; moderate dryish bitter flavour, malty base barely detectable, but at least pretty soft; slightly lingering dryish bitter finish, nearly no pale malt as a counterweight detectable . Not really bad, but completely disappointing. Do these Heineken brewers really understand, what a real Bohemian Pilsener should be like...

Very hazy pale yellow colour, moderate sized dense white head; aroma and taste of wet wheat/bread lemony notes and even some banana; for me it’s more like a psenicne than an ufiltered lager; good one

Is much like a bog standard lager other than the colour. Weak and watery, but a relatively crisp and refreshing and a bit malty.

On tap at Luigi Pizza, Bratislava. It’s slightly better pilsner than other big players, nevertheless it’s still mass production and you will notice that. On the other hand, it won’t disappoint you if you are just thirsty.

Bottle as part of a birthday giftset of czech beers. Thnx! Pours very dark brown, small, bit creamy head. Smell is very maltforward some chocolate and roasty notes, some noble hops, gentle but very nice and rather intense. Taste is rather bitter, grainy, roasty, bit chocolate / coffee notes from the roast. Still nicely hopped, some noble hops, and a very nice yeasty flavor to it. Very different than other swarzbier’s i’ve had, mainly since this is czech style, probably. i do like it ! Very intense taste for the ABV as well. Decent MF and carbo. What’s not to like ?

Bottle as part of a birthday giftset of Czech beers. Thnx ! Pours clear golden, small but stable, very fluffy white head. Much visible carbonation rising up, maintaining the head to stay stable, and keeping all the molecules of the beer where they belong. Very nice! Smell is mostly crisp malts, as well as noble hops in mild, but recognizable amounts. Medium intensity. Taste is medium bitter at first, but it fades as soon as the actual taste kicks in - consisting of maltyness (crisp, white bread ) Some very mild noble hops-spicyness, as well as a decent amount of malt-aroma ( mostly retronasal ) The aftertaste is this beer’s weakest point, as it pretty much has none. Doesn’t seem an all-grain beer to me, perhaps some additives/syrups were used. The outcome is still decent enough, but I’ve had way better (also standard ) options from Czech lagers.
