Reddish-brown, vaguely nutty aroma, light body, thin, little nutty but the thinness is overwhelming anything else.

At the brewpub. They have released several pale ales before, but this one seems like it has no name, where the others had specific names. This one has Columbus hops. Otherwise, I am not sure what differentiates the various Grizzly Paw pale ales. Light amber, hazy in a bad way, vague hop aroma, chewy malts, hop bitterness but not much expressive hop character. A bit dated, needs better balance.

Deep gold, light fruity hop (berry, cantaloupe). Moderate bitterness, clean fresh hop and unobtrusive pale malts. Not really ISA but could be English golden.

Cloudy peachy colour, old school raspberry wheat, lots of rasp extract taste, wheaty. Actually good balance, but the sense of stepping back into craft brewing’s past is palpable.

Gold, light hop nose, light continental hop, then into a grainy-malty tart finish.

At the brewpub. Hazy dull pale straw, yeasty nose with a hint of banana, but mostly footy-yeasty. Sweet front and a bit of wheaty tartness at the back. Doesn’t smell great but it’s ok

Bottle at Santa Lucia Trattoria, Canmore. Deep ruby pour with a tiny tan head that is quickly gone. Nose is toffee and bready malts. Nice sweet start with caramel and some red fruit with some mild bitterness. Quite light and watery mouth with quite soft carbonation.

On tap at Grizzly Paw Brewing, pours a dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, piney hops, and herbal fungal notes. Flavour is a little fungally, with notes of toasted malt and moderate piney hops. Well-balanced, just really restrained for the style. Probably one of this brewery's best beers.
