Bottle at ’t Brugs Beertje. Pours golden amber with creamy, lacing white head. Fruit and caramel aromas. Mild flavors of citrus, light stone fruit and toffee. Finishes a bit astringent. It ends rather dry and deliteful. Reminds of good caramel corn. :)

Bottle at De Hopduvel . Pours a bright amber with a huge fluffy beige head. Light fruit aromas. Near medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is peach/apricot/citrus with light yeast/spice. Quite pleasant.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Very deep ruby colour with thick lasting rocky beige head. Perfumed strong Belgian ale aroma. Quite interesting and tasty and makes you want to try it again. Reminds me of a few of the really good dark beers, more of an abt than a dubbel. Good malts hold it up but this spicyness is really very good. Finished it in just a few minutes. Something like a toned down Rochefort 8 is my best analogy

Zipps Fall 2008. This foil topped bottle has great packaging, hiding a mediocre beer. Light gold color. Some sugar and Belgian yeast in the aroma. Very heavily carbonated. A little sweet in the flavor with sugar and yeast, but completely lacking in complexity like the best tripels. --2/25/10. some improvement with age.

Light brown color with orange tints and a thin head. Fruity, spicy aroma, light caramel, some citrus, rather sweet. Very light mouthfeel, and gassy too. Strange. Light malts, thinnish, minerally, similar to a ginger ale or Sprite. No body. Watery and boring.

bottle at Delirium in Brussels - Pours hazy brown with a thin light tan head. It has a bready malt aroma with some caramel and spice. The flavor is malty and spicy with minimal hops. The latter is surprising given that they’re calling it a pale ale. Maybe they mean something different than we do? It’s medium bodied with light carbonation. It’s fairly good, but there’s nothing particularly impressive in this seasonal brew.

Bottled 750ml (BB 02/2009, vintage 2007). Courtsey of bierkoning, thanks Edo! Murky brown color, steady beige head. Aroma of strawberries, nuts, caramel and perfume. Funny kriek: more than cherries, strawberry jam is dominating the flavor. A bit fizzy, light balsamico in the finish. Aftertaste is more or less watery (with some cherry stones), few years in the bottle is probably thinned body a bit. Would like to sample fresh bottle (or tap) sometime.

Bottle, 6.5%. Spicy aroma, dark malts, slightly sweet and vinous, hint of yeast. Hazy brown colour. Stable light brown head. The flavour is also spicy, has a hint of metal. Drier than the aroma lets on. Roasted and vinous finish. A bit of yeast, but tolerable.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a blond, medium-sized foamy head. Sweet and moderately yeasty malty aroma with notes of coriander, lemon and ginger. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Robust malty base, slightly sugary with coriander spice and a present alcoholic note. Medium-dry, sweet malty and slightly bitter finish with a shy hoppy touch. Needs more hops and less spices, but is still a likeable brew (26.IV.09).
