A hazy red beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of coriander. The flavor is spicy with coriander standing out. A nice beer - but the body is thin.

(Draught) Dark brown with amber shine; burnish head, fast falling, lacey. Burnt roasted & chocolate malts, and some smoked notes when warming up. Taste is sweet, roasted. There is and acidity, but not as a stout, but similar to wheat-acidity. My least favourite from the De Ryck range. But don't give it a miss if you stumble across it.

Clear body, amber colour. Frothy, light brown head which is mostly diminishing and excellent lacing. Lightly malty (toffee) and anise aroma. Lightly acidic and lightly bitter initial flavour. Moderately bitter, ligthly acidic finish. Watery texture. Lively and dry mouthfeel. Light to medium bodied. A saison-like beer.

(draught, as befits this brewery) Dark amber, rim of foam. Brown candi-sugar, sweetish, but with a fresh herbal smell as well, however fainter as most years. Sweetish, caramel taste, with a refreshing quality as mineral water. Bitterish surrounding flavour. A bit thin mouthfeel, really. Aftertaste: where are the hops?? I remember this beer with a much more outspoken hopbite. Ann, Ann, lama sabbathani?

(Bottled 75cl, somewhat aged sample) Colour: gushing to huge creamy, yellowish head, lively pearling. Flunky amber beer. Orangey nose. Very little oxidation. Aroma's of citrusleaf and a bit of hops. Rather neutral taste, some coloured malts, bit of candi sugar and again a citrussy flavour. Back of tongue yields some caramel. Warming up, the malt taste comes out more strongly. Light to medium bodied, quite dry. A bit sticky mouthfeel. Somehow the impression of alcohol is given - very strange for a 4.7% brew. I think the dryness has something to account for. The usual draught version doesn't have this feature. It is still best traditionally draught, but the bottles are better than expected - different somehow.
