SEP-2019. GROWLER. Hazy golden-amber, off-white head. Rich smoky aroma, smoked sausages, some background caramel. Moderate somewhat simplistic amber malț sweetness, the meaty fatty sauges again, smooth round body, a kiss of spicy hops. Round yet crisp and easy enough drinking mouthfeel. Really full and hearty. 3,7/5.

JAN-2018. DRAFT. Clear amber, off-white head. Malty and smoky nose - the malt is caramel and a tad too sugary, the smoke is spicy oaky. The taste is a clean amber lager malt base with a layer of smoke and hop bitterness. Not thin but too clean and crisp - does not have the "fatty" mouthfeel of a real Bamberg beer. 3,3/5.

FEB-2017. PET growler from the brewery. Hazy red, beige head. Subtle sweet bready malts, mild smokiness, perhaps some hop spice. Clean rounded bready sweetness, moderate smokiness, that feels right (if a bit harsh/burnt/puhoiesque), spicy smoky and hoppy finish. Pretty good, free of major flaws. 3,4/5.

DEC-2019. Draft at Craft Baza. Jammy but also bready malts, not as sticky sugary as before. Big piney bitterness. Big and malty but pretty smooth overall. 3,7/5.

FEB-2019. Hazy amber, small ivory head. Smells sweet - crystal malts and sugars, a hint of citrus jam, a little spicy hops and toasted grains. The taste is malty and really really bitter - loads of spicy herbal alpha acids. Simplistic, but overloaded with flavours that's it biggest (and only) upside. Looks like it's not as (overly) sweet as before. Okay. 3,4/5.

SEP-2018. PET growler at home. New 7% abv version. Hazy amber-red, ivory head. Aroma is mostly jammy caramel and strawberry marmalade, both overriding subtle ripe grapefruit. Some pretty harsh booze in the background. Similar taste, quite malty and jammy, less so hoppy. The booze and the boozy bitterness is there too. medium to full body. Feels bigger than it is. Nice, if you want you IPAs malty and big, too brutal otherwise. 6-4-7-4=14=3,5.

JAN-2017. TAP at Smokehouse. Hazy red, beige head. Pretty hard of crystal malts, some sweet citrus in the background. Light pine. Really big caramel and tangerine sweetness, jammy, but the bitterness is even bigger - big and bad, sharp, not as zesty or piney as boozy. Good, but brutally straightforward. 6-4-7-3-13=3,3

JAN-2020. DRAFT. Opaque deep brown, creamy mocha head. Strong chocolate candy aroma, cocoa powder, light roasty / coffee notes, some dark caramel. The taste is a very good balance between dark sugars, bitter chocolate, light roast barley notes and gentle hops bitterness. Neither too sweet, nor overly dry, not too roasty, fruity or hoppy-a really smooth flavour. On the downside it is quite light bodied and easy drinking for the advertised 8% abv and there's absolutely no alcohol warmth in it. 3,8/5.

13-SEP-2017. BOTTLE. Pitch black, beige head. Smells is roasty chocolate, a little but of green apricot and kinda spicy oaky tannins. Taste: mild chocolate, very little malț sweetness, surprisingly easy drinking, a little winy, some oaky spice in the finish. Quite smooth, no booze, no rough edges. It dried out and aged nicely. 6-4-7-4-15=3,6.

4-FEB-2017. DRAFT. Inky black, espresso head. Dark malts and choclate, but also some harsher alcohols, nail polish. Similar taste, rich choclaty but way too boozy and harsh - needs time, I am afraid. UPDATE. Gets much smoother as it aerates. 6-4-7-3-14=3,4.

14-JAN-2017. PET growler from the brewery. Pitch black, dark mocha head with so so retention. Sweet chocolate, sweetened coffee, wet coffee grounds. A slightest hint of booze. Pretty strong taste - if not the smoothest. No big characterful malts - a good balance of malt sweetness and bitterness, a little bit of sweet coffee, and robust slightly acid roast. The body is good, but not really big. Overall, might lack some refinement, but it is a pretty nice strong porter. 7-4-7-3-14=3,5

BOTTLE 75 CL. Hazy amber-pink, ivory head, latent gushing. Tart aroma with notes of acetic and a good malt backbone. The fruits are hardly there. The taste is tart, but not as much as other Kollabrett beers, and fruity in a very juicy way. A very slight fruit seed bitterness, but this one is the least funky of the bunch. Very good.

BOTTLE 75 CL. Almost clear ruby, pink head with so so retention. The aroma is a generic sour ale funk, green fruit seeds and subtle fresh black currant notes. The taste is of a balanced sour ale - got everything - strong sourness that does not feel toxic, a touch of acetic, some funk, fresh and fermented fruit. Strong and juicy taste with notes of currant skins. Very nice.

BOTTLE 75 CL. Hazy dark ruby, sparkling pink head. Lots of sediment. Green fruit tartness, some malt sweetness far behind, a hint of acetic, and maybe some sour cherries - barely there. The taste is a pretty clean sourness - lactic and mildly acetic, light balancing maltiness. Not much is left of the cherries, but the malts sort-of make an impression of cherries. Some fruit seed funk. Pretty good.

BOTTLE 75 CL. Slight gushing. Totally murky amber, beige head. Pleasant aroma - oily bread or pie crust, warm cheese pie notes, green fruit funk, a to touch of acetic/balsamic. Taste: "clean", if I can call it so, and juicy tartness. Balanced residual sweetness, funky green fruit acidity, a touch of vinegar and a light fruit seed bitterness in the finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel. A sort of a blonde Flanders Red.

19-MAY-2017. TAP at Craft Baza 2. Hazy rose-amber, pinkish head. Vague winey notes, remotely acetic, otherwise just slightly tart, jammy raspberries, raspberry seeds, vague light funk. Young wine harshness, balancing fruity raspberry overtones. Didn’t change much, but I seem to enjoy it more than the last time. 6-4-7-4=14=3,5

24-DEC-2016. PET growler from the brewery. Slightly hazy amber-rose, creamy rosy head. The nose is light and refreshing like a rosé wine - some vague malty sweetness, notes of fresh tart raspberries. Also some fattier, heavier notes - like raspberry seeds run trough an oil press. Just a hint of alcohols. The taste is also closer to a rosé wine that beer - but not the finest one, I am afraid. The sweetness/acidity balance is that of a demi-dry wine, fruity strawberry/raspberry notes, mild phenolic harshness of a young wine, a winey slightly astringent finish. Not bad actually, but I don’t think it is up to a real wine. Or beer. 6-4-6-4-14=3,4

I would have hoped for a bit of a better pils, being in an eastern country. Poura golden with ok head and lacing. Astringent finish. Touch of lime like ceviche. Tap at Smokehouse.
