From the bottle. It read “Lambic Style White Peach,” but I suppose it is the same beer. Cloudy, thin, medium golden color, rather low white head. Rather funky, sour aroma of peaches, wheat, butter, wild yeast. Close to lambic actually in the nose, though I guess the butter shouldn’t really be there. Dry, thin, somewhat sour and funky flavor. Wheat, peaches, bananas, Belgian yeast, butter again. Interesting. A bit too thin in body and light in flavor, but interesting. The strong lambic sour punch is missing, but something in it comes close. There is something metallic that I don’t care for. Otherwise well done and enjoyable.

Can by Mail order from the brewery. Called an American Brown ale, includes wheat malt, black rice, Japanese "ancient" rice. Light copper color, medium-sized fine white head. Light for a brown ale. Aroma is mostly hops, but with some caramel malt in there as well as citrus fruit and caramel. Light but tasty. Good hops, not overwhelming but always noticeable. Good session beer, though it might get boring. Hopping nice, citrus and fruity. Finish is light, dry, hoppy, full of citrus. I like it, though it is not all that special.

Bottled. Hazy brownish amber, rich head. Floral yeasty nose. Sweetish and fruity, medicinal with plenty of peachy hops. Soapy orangey and yeasty with lively spritzy mouthfeel Piney bitterish finish with a warming tingle. Isekadoyas style definitions may be somewhat unique, but they make good beers!

Bottled. Clear dark amber, creamy head. Floral yellow plum aroma. Medium bodied and lightly caramelly. Salty and fruity with chewy rounded mouthfeel. Low bitterbess. More an Amirican amber with a Japanise twist than anything Europian.

Draught at McLaughlin’s. Rich, sweet, smokey malt. Rather flat body, could use a bit more spunk. Nicely roasted, medium-light smoke, with wood, and some fruit. Very Nice, but not quite as good as I remember the last batch being. 2007 Version: Fantastic. Very interesting strong and flavorful porter. Wood, chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and smoke. I would smoke it even more. --- Beer merged from original tick of Imperial Smoked Porter on 10 Sep 2008 at 20:50 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Draught at the 2008 Best Beer Selection, Osaka. Very clean, with a clear, grainy Rye character. Very good hops as well, making this quite different from your average Rye beer. Not at all like a wheat beer, and very complex and interesting. Decent pale ale-like style; hoppy and fruity, plus something extra. Rye is not nearly as prominent in the bottle version. --- Beer merged from original tick of Rye Ale on 10 Sep 2008 at 20:47 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Said to be an American-style Pale Ale, and it includes rice, though that might be a nod to the gods at Ise more than a way to make it cheaper. Non-pasteurized. Light copper color, clear, with a short white head. Tart, citrus hop aroma. Not as strong a hop aroma as some American PAs, but good. Medium rich malt flavor, with caramel. Good hops throughout. Citrus tanginess and fruity. Relatively light in body, smooth and easy to drink but with good character. Dry, bitter hop finish that lasts quite a while. This is a decent light ale—not near as interesting and rich as a Yona-Yona, but light and easy to drink, and flavorful. Something like a bitter, but with more alcohol and American hops. Not mind-bending, but good for a lighter, canned beer.

Bottle from the brewery. Pitch black with a tall tan head. Aroma of figs, cereals, roasted barley, some hops, molasses. Rich, dark, sweet, aroma. Rich flavor of dark fruits, roasted barley, thick rich grains, molasses, coffee, chocolate. Very complex and extremely well balanced. Dry overall but with lots of rich flavor and a good amount of sweetness, but not at all oversweet or cloying. Finish is dead dry, burnt with a touch of hops, dry, refreshing, light, a bit sour. A relatively light dry stout, but with very full flavor. Excellent.

Draught at Beer Cafe Barley in Nishinomiya. Supposed to be in the English tradition, but with aroma hopping. Definitely good hops, bitterish and dry, although with a Belgian yeast flavor as well. Earthy, a bit like a biere de garde or Belgian amber, but with some English characteristics as well. Nice but not great. --- Beer merged from original tick of Europian Amber Ale on 10 Sep 2008 at 20:38 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.
