Black with little brown head. Aroma is clove, figs, dried fruit bread, piment, dried orange, very christmassy indeed. Taste is surprisingly sour a bit cocoa sweetness, quite some carbonation but also thickness. Combination is a little strange. A bit thin for the aroma and concept. Not my favourite I must admit.

Bottle. Opaque black, low dark brown cream. Light ginger yeast cake aroma. Medium body, mellow chewy. Nice winter cake, cocoa nibs, mellow chewy, good balance between x-mas cake flavours and fresh drinkables notes. Neat.

Bottle. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is raisins, figs, orange peel, cloves, chocolate, christmasy. Taste is the same, very figs-like, spices. Silky mouthfeel with fine-bubbled carbonation. Good!

Dark pour with a thin brown head. Brandy soaked plums on the aroma, flavor adds cinnamon and cocoa notes. Toasty coffee aftertaste. Not overly sweet considering the tendency of the style.

Shared bottle on board Fridtjofen 08.12.18. Clear golden. White head. Excellent aroma and taste of mango, other tropical fruits and marmalade. Medium bitterness. Very, very good!

Bottle from Pivny raj Pours hazy yellowish with white head. Fresh citruses on nose. Lightly sour, medium bitter, tropical fruits I was always bad in guessing. Very good. I want some more.

Bottle shared with JMD and SM on board Fridtjofen 03.12.18. Translucent dark golden. Small and diminishing white head. Complex aroma of fine red wine, rosehips and leather. Similar taste, but not as inviting as the aroma.

Flaske fra Holmens importkoffert, delt med skipsrederen og seremonimesteren 02.12.18 (juleverksted på Fridtjofen): lett uklar rødgylden med kort skum. Mmm, for en herlig duft! Luftig rødvin, vanilje, nyper og et hint av kanel og lær. Smaken ikke helt i samme klasse, men fortsatt elegant og lekende lett å helle innpå.

Shared 330 ml bottle. Orange colour, minimal head. Lovely aroma of red wine oak barrel and spicy saison yeast, a hint of marzipan. Dry flavour, notes of oak barrel, dry wine and spicy saison yeast, noticeable hops.
