Uit blik op NHBF’24. Donkerbruine kleur, beige kraag. Zoet, caramel, ontbijtkoekkorst, licht gebrand, iets kruidig, moutig, donker fruit. Tja dit is met veel fantasie een RIS te noemen. Zelfs voor een quad is dit matig.

330ml can. Jet black colour with small, fluffy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and minimally chocolately, dark malty as well as herbal-fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of dark berries, blueberry, a touch of juniper berry. Taste is sweet-ish, roasty, chocolately dark malty, caramel malty and fruity hoppy, notes of blueberry, dark chocolate, a touch of treacle and plum butter; well hidden alcohol. Light body, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, scattered, soft carbonation. Surprisingly light, dangerously drinkable, nice fruitiness, a bit simple for the style - nice.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Schaik, Vianen. Hazy amber with a thin white head. Malty aroma with some coriander and orange. Taste is sweet but has enough character to remain interesting enough. Nice blonde.

Very deep dark red brown colour, small frothy beige head, dissipates quickly, light lacing. Sweet malty aroma, roasted, dark fruits, brown sugar, some coffee. Taste heavy to medium sweet, light bitter, burned sugar, roasted coffee. Medium body, oily texture, above average carbonation, aftertaste sweetbitter, roastiness continues. You have to give this beer a bit time to open itself, in the beginning it gives a kinda harsh impression because of the roastiness, that softens after a while.
