Description
BAPBAP is the craft brewery located in the Oberkampf district in the 11th arrondissement. From the crushing of the grains to the bottling, all our beers are made locally in an atypical place of 1800 m2 sheltered by a metallic structure from the beginning of the 20th century in the Eiffel style.
BAPBAP was born from the desire shared by Edouard Minart and Archibald Troprès to make a local and quality beer 100% "Made in Paris". It was after their meeting on the benches of the college, a lasting friendship, the revelation of the Hefeweizen in Frankfurt for one, the discovery of the Brooklyn Brewery for the other, that the common dream of giving Paris its beer germinated. .
It took more than two years of research and six months of work to find and transform a former textile accessories warehouse into a craft beer factory. At the end of 2014, our first beer came out of the vats. Since then, we have produced more than 45 different ones! In 2019, the brewery acquired a taproom, a hybrid place between shop and tasting bar, to welcome all curious and regulars wishing to eat in or take out. In 2021, we opened our second production site in Sucy-en-Brie, in Greater Paris.
Facing economic difficulties since the pandemic, the Parisian brewery has just been acquired by Appie & Cie (based in Pantin). The company, already active in the soft drink, cider, and beer sectors, is thus ensuring the continuity of BAPBAP's operations. The new owner committed itself to "taking over the brand, the products, the recipes, and the entire team." However the two co-founders are leaving the company.

14/II/23 - 33cl bottle as a gift, shared @ home, BB: I/2024, lot: 07/22, 221047 (2023-162) Thanks to Kristine V. for the bottle!
A little cloudy blond yellow beer, big solid creamy white head, a bit irregular, crackles down a bit, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty base, almost sweet impression, grains, some citrus notes, a little fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: nice, slightly sourish start, almost lemony, gentle bitterness, a little malty, almost sweet, a bit spicy. Aftertaste: more bitterness but still pretty gentle, still a little acidic, grassy finish, a herbal touch.

Bottle. Very lively. Dark amber with big beige head. Massive pinot noir, yeast, caramel, oak, dry old woody notes. Medium sweet and leathery tannic bitter. Full bodied. Very vinous.

Bottle picked up from the brewery shop in Paris and consumed at home Friday 21st October 2022 listening to Afro Deutscha on 6Music we had an excellent Indian Spiced Meatballs in Curry Sauce for tea tonight. Pours opaque dark brown almost black with a fast disappearing head. A little bit boozy despite the modest abv, not really picking up much of the coconut either, bitter chocolate tick, roasty and bitter flavours tick, coconut no tick. It's okay, but I wouldn't rush to try again.

Bottle picked up from BapBap bar and shop, Paris and consumed at home listening to Tom Ravenscroft on 6 Music, cooking Lamb Koftas and a Black Bean Curry with Mushroom Rice for tea, Friday 16th September 2022. Pours a very dark brown edging towards black with a creamy textured light cappuccino coloured head. Just the right amount of toasted malts, roastiness, coffee and dark fruity tang. It's a simple but well executed beer, really good example of the style.
