Description
Originally from Sainte-Croix en Plain, the Alsatian Sainte Crucienne brewery first saw the light of day in 2007 during a boozy evening, thanks to a band of idealistic friends eager to create different and very hoppy beers. At the start of their adventure, they started by brewing 20 liters of beers, then 100, then 600. It was not until 2013 that the brewery officially started in its premises in Colmar, in just three years the volume of production has doubled to reach 3000 hl today.

They share this success with a whole community of independent brewers who are part of the Front Hexagonal de Libièration, with whom they continue to work. The goal is to multiply collaborations and unique brews to create an ever more original beer in taste and participate in the revolution of the world of craft beers.

Bottle from Saveur. Pours dark brown with off white head. Caramel/toffee aroma with light dates, figs, prunes. Taste is more to the dryer, liquorice side with dates and hints of vanilla. Lightly sweetish finish. Not complex enough to compete with the big boys, but quite tasty nonetheless.

Hazy amber beer, big cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Light fluffy malts, some lactose like sweetness as well as the creamy sweetness. Piney hops backed with a mild spice. Sweetish floralness. Just a touch of citrus hop here. Light piney finish. A light and sweetish DIPA but quite drinkable.

Clear deep amber - brown beer, decent tan head. Palate is airy and slightly soft with decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, reasonably sweet . Milk chocolate well integrated with mild brett. Mellow cappuccino. Tangy fruits, light esters and a little sweet floralness rounds things off. Light semi dry finish with a mild bitter linger. Lots going on here, unusual and tasty.

Stark karbonisierter, weich-süßer Röstbeginn. Spritzig, dunkel getreidig nach Roggen, minimale Herbe. Intensiv röstig bleibend, der Hopfen wird stärker und übernimmt eindeutig die Führung. Gut. 12/11/12/11/8/11
