bottle from Auchan, Strasbourg. Clear amber colour, aroma of malt and herbs, medium-size head. Full-bodied, malty with hints of caramel, herbs and christmas spices. Slightly fruity with a touch of orange peel. Pleasantly hoppy in the finish.

Bottle, 4.6% ABV. Unsurprisingly, it pours a quite pale golden body under a small off-white head. Weak aroma with some artificial lemon initially, followed by grains and some citrusy hops. It’s not bad, it just gives an artificial impression. Effervescent, medium body with citrus, pale malt and a hint of metal flavor. It finishes with artificial lemon and some maltyness. There’s also some bitterness, quite appropriate level for the style. Easy to drink, but it would probably be challenging to drink more than one bottle of it. It’s too artificial-lemony. (081019)

Blumig-malziger Geruch. Dezent hopfig-blumiger Antrunk. Bottle, Chez Michel, Strasbourg. Dark amber with a dissipating white head. Sweet aroma and flavour, with some yeast and malt in there mixed with trace fruit and spice. Straightforward stuff, decent enough to wash down a big bowl of moules and frites.

Draught, Chez Michel, Strasbourg. Pallid hazy light yellow colour with a thin white head. Sweetish citrus aroma with a hint of spice. Flavour a big let down...insipid, artificial, soggy cardboard. Not pleasant.

330 ml green bottle, now available in Norway. The label only says "Meteor Bière d’Alsace". ABV is 4.6%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, big white head. Initially a citrussy and sweetish Heineken-like aroma (an American would probably say "skunky", but I don’t mind), the aroma sort of "dies" in the glass. Fairly "clean" pale lager flavour, moderately sweet and slightly citrussy, very moderate hops, not offensive but far from exciting.

(25cl bottle) Clear, deep golden to amber colour with a mid-sized, off-white foamy head. Sweet cara-malty, subtle fruity and intensively floral hoppy nose. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, soft on carbon. Cara-malty, slightly nutty and minimal fruity taste, leading into a well-rounded malty and floral hoppy finish. A nice surprise. Thanks Stefan! (09.08.08).

Big offwhite shiny head leaves lacing as it slowly subsides. Brass body. Grassy rubbery aroma with milky sugar notes. Dry-acidic grainy rubbery taste with milky notes. Aftertaste is cardboard with hoppy traces. Thin body, harsh mouthfeel. Sweetish unclean background. Yuck! (0.33l bottle, Centra, Oslo.)
