Hopworks was founded in 2007 by our Brewmaster, Christian Ettinger. He started brewing in his parent’s kitchen during his first summer break in college and it didn’t take long to decide he would open his own brewpub.

With locally-sourced, organic and Salmon-Safe hops, our 20-barrel brewery produces 10,000 barrels of beer per year for our two brewpubs, airport brewpub, and for distribution throughout Cascadia and beyond. From composting to salvaged materials, and pervious pavers to hand dryers, we’ve made every effort to protect our planet with thoughtful alternatives to the status quo.

16oz can from HomeBrewStuff. Pale yellow hazy pour, fizzy white head. Aroma is fruity, tropical with minor dank notes. Taste amps up the dankness abit, still fruity, light bitterness tapering off quickly. Nothing much remains on the palate.

Admittedly an old bottle. Hazy brown body medium foamy tan head. Bready toasty caramel aroma, some oxidation. Bready caramel toasty bitter flavorm Medium body moderate carbonation. 7/4/7/3/14 3.5

Canned. Yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is bready and biscuity malts with some grass and herbs. Flavour is very similar to the elements in the aroma. Crisp and quite fresh. Simple, yet very drinkable.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Dark amber, cloudy, off-white frothy head. Aroma is roast pumpkin and a hint of cinnamon. Taste is more of the pumpkin, nutmeg, a small bite from the peppers. So nice to have a beer that focuses on the pumpkin instead of the spice.

Pint can from Total Wine. Pours amber with a big sandy head. Light roasted malt and pumpkin aroma with modest spiciness. Earthy and rich flavor. More of the roasted pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. Has an ever so slight bit of chili influence. First pumpkin brew in a while and overall a pretty solid offering for the style.

1 pint can. Pours s dull hazy amber with moderate head and lots of chunky floating stuff. Yuck… Aromas of fruit jelly, orange pekoe tea, and bready malts. Bland flavors of candied orange and doughy malts. Packaged over a year ago so may be quite stale.

On tap at Apex, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of the citrus fruit, light sweetness, earthiness, and a hint of lacto. Flavour brings out citrus fruit, earthiness, and light lacto. Earthy, musty, citrusy, and lacto-y. Quite a pleasant Berliner.

On tap pretty clear dull light orange pour. Thin but lasting sticky white head and lacing . Mild and malty. Not much big fresh bitter hoppiness. Smooth.
