Bright amber. Mild toasty character, sweetish. Finishes weaker, maybe ale like, a little lacking in presence.

Hazy straw color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, yeast and fruit. Light to medium body with flavors of herbal yeast, citrus, peppercorns and malt. The finish is floral and fruity with a yeast and citrus aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Pours with a clear, very pale yellow hued body with a small white head that fizzes away slowly. Aroma shows mild sulfur, large carbonic bite, medium malt character, phenols (pepper, cardamom, 4vg), dry esters. Grassy hop notes. Flavors are dry, peppery, mildly savory, rye, crackery, floral, and slightly spicy. Very high carbonation, carbonic bite, a touch papery. Low body, easy drinking. Pretty decent saison.

Cloudy golden color with small head. Wonderful aroma, deep, fresh, fruity, with mild Brett character; apricot wine; impression of hard cheese rind. Highly carbonated, smooth mouthfeel, rather dry; strong Brett character, providing also a strong astringency; a lot of bitter orange peel; the acidity is just mild.
Excellent.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is tart fruit, strong funk, and oak. Medium mouthfeel with strong brett, spice, and nice lingering dry finish. Very good.

Pours a fairly deep amber orange color. Looks a bit murky but easy to see through. I’m guessing there’s a fair bit of yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle. The head is small to medium in size, white and relatively sticky. Aroma is light caramel malt, herbal hoppiness, mint, grapes, apple cider and some earthiness. The malt seems sweet with a fair bit of caramel and a somewhat bready character. Lots of that grapey, appley sweetness, which is not entirely pleasant. The taste is sweet, herbal and earthy. More apple cider sweetness. The malt flavor could be a lot fuller. It’s a bit stale and lifeless. It’s slightly too sweet. Something about it needs to be cleaned up. It’s a touch cloying, though too thin to really go too far in that direction. The mouthfeel is fairly effervescent and almost light but the sweetness gives a sense of body in a funny way. I don’t much like this one. I wouldn’t call it a very clean beer, which is advertised on the label. That apple cider sweetness gets to me and kills most of the refreshment that I was expecting. That said, it’s not bad. The hops seems nice - wish they were a bit stronger - and I appreciate anyone attempting a Biere de Garde.

Tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy reddish color, with a small foam crown. The aroma is interesting, the black currant is evident, nice sourness too, moldy cellar. Dry mouthfeel, very tart, fruity (raspberry), lemony. The final is a bit too simple.
Nice.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy pinkish orange with a small white head. Aroma is very yogurty, with loads of lacto and maybe a subtle touch of black currants. Flavour brings out lots of lacto, toasted nuts, and black currants. Tartness is pretty subtle, but well-situated. The lacto is used really well here. Highly drinkable and very milky. Great stuff.
