Extremely dark mahogony brown with a thin beige head that dissipates to the edge and leaves light spotting. Nose is dark malt, nutty tones, sugars, dark fruits. Taste comprises dark malts, dark toffee, brown sugar, walnut, biscuit bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweetish finish. Ok drinkable affair if a little over sweet.

Tap at APEX, PDX, 26/05/13. Lightly hazed pale yellow with a thin white head. Nose is sour apples, lychees, lemon rind, funk, lactic notes, grass. Taste comprises sour fruits, apple skins, grapes, light sugars, funky notes, lactose. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sour tarte fruit notes in the finish. Solid enough sour but not much depth to this one.

Bottle at the brewery, kindly split by the guy serving to a couple of out of towners from the East coast and myself - 26/05/13. Lightly hazed golden with a thin white head. Nose is bretts, soured fruits, funk, tarte gooseberries, barnyard. Taste comprises light brett - but always in the shadows, grass, lemon rind, tarte berry fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp clean finish - pitched to perfection and making this sour super drinkable. Great tackle! Lots of complexity and depth for 5.7%, well executed.

Amber coloured, not dark, but not light like a saison. Some pear in the aroma, not sure where it comes from. Spice and citrus in the finish, is this an IPA with a saison yeast? Bigger bodied than most saisons.

Tap at the Commons, PDX, 26/05/13. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is pale malt, citrus, bitter orange, grass, light sugar. Taste comprises tarte fruits, lemon rind, bitter orange, grass, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish. Decent enough season, lacks a little funk and earthyness to make it a top notch example.

Tap at the Commons, PDX, 26/05/13. Hazed mahogony brown with a thin off white head that clears edgeward. Nose is dark toffee, dates, prunes, brown sugar. Taste comprises dark toffee, sugar, dark fruit, light spice, rye notes, reminds me of a Belgian Dubbel in some respects. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweet in the finish. Ok - a little too sweet, drinkable but not one Iβd bother returning to.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a clear blonde / yellow with a small white head. Peppery and spicy on the nose, along with subtler hints of Belgian yeast. Flavour is peppery upfront, with notes of spice, floral notes and Belgian yeast. A little too peppery for my taste. Decently made, but not so enjoyable.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a murky dark amber brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma of toasted nuts, rye and crusty bread. Flavour brings out Belgian yeast, toasted nuts, and a little of the rye. Not too dark or dank tasting, with a decent incorporation of the rye. Decent stuff, but missing character.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma of rustic farmhouse notes and a touch of floral. Flavour is not far off from a saison, with farmhouse notes, Belgian yeast, and some floral notes. Very light on the palate, with a nice flavour dimension. Very drinkable, though nothing extraordinary.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma of crackery malt, Belgian yeast, and some perfumey floral notes. Flavour is very pleasant, with Belgian yeast, some floral notes, and some candied sugar making it a bit sweet. Very smooth and drinkable on the palate. Well-balanced. Very good.
