Has a dark brown body with a purplish tinge, white head with that same purply thing going on. Aroma is lots of barley with swampwater and herbs - definitely the lavender and rosemary coming through. The beer is an interesting mix and the heavy lavender flavouring was off-putting at first; this ain’t one for chugging. It’s unique though and very sippable. However, quite frankly, I wouldn’t want to try it again.

Tap at the Commons brewery, PDX, 26/05/13. Lightly hazed pale blonde with a thin white head that dissipates to the edge. Nose carries yeast esters, toffee, spice, dark fruits. Taste comprises pear drops, touch of spice, light banana tones, sugars, yeast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweetish in the finish. This was drinkable stuff but not really what I look for in a saison, it came over more as a Belgian ale.

750 ml bottle. Pours a light amber/yellow with full head. Floral, fruity aromas with honey and citrus. Flavors of tart pitted fruit, citrus, bread, and honey. Very refreshing and very nice.

750 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with full head. Aromas of lavender and other rose like floral scents. Tastes like soap. Yuck, the aroma should have given this away - why would I want to taste something that smells like my grandmothers bathing salts? Uncommon for the Commons.

Balance is ok here. The main problem is the weak hops variety. Some light floral but nothing to speak of. Pours clear blond without much lacing or head. Finishes clean with touch of sourness on long-term aftetaste

Decent for style. Pours ,cloudy orange with good lacing, a little head. Aroma of cellar barrel musk and some booze. Finish is very smooth, almost tasteless but with some barrel bitterness. On tap at Alibi Room.

Hazy copper and orange coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, wheat, yeast, brett, sour grapes and a hint of coriander seed and some light spices. Medium-bodied; Assertive hop note up front with a lot of pungent yeast and a little sourness on the end, but not much. Aftertaste doesn’t show as much complexity as I’d like to see, but some nice barnyardie flavours, a hint of herbaceousness and a little yeastie funk, but nothing over-the-top. Overall, a good and decent beer, but not up to the standards of others. Definitely worth trying if you can get it, but if you have room in your luggage for one 75 cL bottle, don’t buy this one. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Made in Oregon in Portland International Airport [Terminal D] on 28-April-2013 for US$10.95 sampled at home in Washington on 04-May-2013.

750ml bottle pours a clear brown with some very frothy, white head. Nose has some dried leaves, musty. Flavor is malt, apple, a little butter. Medium bodied, slightly hot finish. All over the place.
