About
Great Notion Brewing is a project started by three friends; Andy Miller, James Dugan, and Paul Reiter. All three guys met each other out of coincidence, they live on the same street in North Portland. Andy and James met each other while home brewing in 2010, and began developing recipes and building a friendship. Together they have 25 years of brewing experience with medals in the National Homebrew Competition for fruit lambic and Double IPA. Paul Reiter has a degree in business and finance with a focus on start-ups and creative enterprise . In April of 2014, the boys finally got together and shared some home brew. On this night they enjoyed a Stout with hand smoked Vienna malt, a 3 year old Peach Sour, and a 10% double IPA. It’s fair to say, on this night, Great Notion Brewing was born.

Crowler thanks to Toby, you rock man! Pours a super cloudy yellow color, looks like orange juice, a small white head. A big citrus and peach nose. The flavor is soft peaches, perfume, quite a mix here. The concoction is quite unlike any other fruited IPA, the peaches are just so huge. Apricot is much lighter. Very smooth, no alcohol at all. Brilliant.

On tap at The Loyal Legion, pours a cloudy golden orange with abysmal white head. Aroma brings out tropical fruits, loads of juiciness and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of melons, fruity hops and dry biscuity malt. Very dry and fruity. Nicely constructed and well-balanced. Good stuff.

On tap at The Loyal Legion, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out resinous hops, a little pine and dank herbal notes. Flavour is fairly bitter, with loads of resinous hood upfront, with a little pine and dry biscuity malt. Complex and well-balanced, with a dry finish. Excellent.

On tap at The Loyal Legion, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma is very juicy, with lots of tropical fruits and resinous hops. Flavour brings out tropical fruits upfront, with resinous hops and biscuity malt. Well-balanced, juicy and resinous. Excellent.

Flavour is super juicy, with tons of watermelon juice, with lots of sweet juiciness and no lacto. Like dissolved watermelon into a light tart wheat. Solid.

On tap at Great Notion, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma seriously smells like a blueberry muffin. Flavour is along the same lines, tasting a lot like a blueberry muffin, with butter, blueberries and light tartness. Amazing how much this tastes like a blueberry muffin. Really nice.

On tap at great notion Portland. Pours out a orange juice hazy ne style ipa. Nose is more of the house ipa note citrus pulp juicy sweetness. Taste is more of the orange juice notes a nice sweetness.

On tap at great notion Portland Oregon. Pours hazy cloudy golden topped with a small head. Nose is orange juice citrus hops a nice sweet fruit. Taste is more of the orange juice and sweetness.
