Description
Griffin Claw Brewing Company’s official opening day may be July 18th, 2013 but it all started when Dan Rogers began working his magic at Big Rock Chophouse in Birmingham, MI. Dan had been brewing since 1991 and eventually found his way to Big Rock in 2004, this is the unofficial start of Griffin Claw. Dan continued hammering out amazing beers in the small confines of Big Rock and the Michigan beer community started taking notice. It wasn’t until 2010 that his name and beers received a lot more attention. 2010 was a big year, winning two World Beer Cup medals for Norm’s Raggedy Ass and Bonnie’s Raggedy Ass.

Griffin Claw’s culture is that of growth. Our path to get where we are has been a quick one but it’s because of our people. We are centered around young, hungry, active beer enthusiasts – with a foundation of grizzled vets. Our love for this Great Beer State is increased as the days go on and we love the industry that we’re in.

Chalumeaux with a killer vertical, thanks buddy! 2017 vintage. Out of the entire vertical. Body is on the thinner side. Cinnamon is not overwhelming but nearly to sweet.

Poured from bottle thanks Flanders light brown tan head. Aroma is cinnamon, csramel, vanilla, coffee. Taste is sweet toffee, vanilla, cinnamon and barrel notes.

Poured from bottle thanks Flanders brown black with tan head. Aroma is roasted nut, coffee, caramel, bourbon. Taste is sweet, nutty, toffee, vanilla, roasted nut. Really nice.

Chalumeaux with a killer vertical, thanks buddy! 2017 vintage. Great level of hazelnut and coffee. No booze or alcohol warming. Body and texture. The flavor is very pleasing. Not to sweet.

Poured from bottle thanks Flanders brown black with minimal head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla, oak, light bourbon notes. Taste is caramel, vanilla, coffee, nice bourbon notes throughout. Well crafted.

Chalumeaux with a killer vertical, thanks buddy! 2017 vintage. The aroma is mostly bourbon, slight coffee. Flavor has weak vanilla, soft coffee, and some hot bourbon. Rich and hot with lots of warming.

Poured from 6 bottle vertical in trade with Flanders light cola color with minimal head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla, light spice. Taste is coffee, hints of vanilla, with a lingering heat of peppers. Nice.

Chalumeaux with a killer vertical, thanks buddy! 2017 vintage. The aroma is coffee+ chili, and more pepper. Maybe I’m a wuss when it comes to chili peppers. But this has a nice long spicy burn in the finish for me. Not my favorite of the series.

Chalumeaux with a killer vertical, thanks buddy! 2017 vintage. Moderate coffee, bold bourbon. Flavor has nice long lasting bourbon throughout the sip. Slight warming after the sip. Body is on the full side. Nice.
