Flight at the tap room. Black pour with a small tan head that leaves some lace. Nose is dominated by bourbon with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Sweet chocolate with bitter coffee and pronounced wood and bourbon Medium creamy mouth with soft carbonation.

Flight at the tap room. Clear medium amber with a small white head that leaves sparse lace. Nose is yeast and ripe fruit with some bubblegum and candy. Quite sweet candy and fruit with alcohol quite obvious and just a hint of spice. Medium slick mouth with slightly soft carbonation.

22 ounce bottle into chalice; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy orange/copper color with a small dense off white head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing fairly quickly. Minimal lacing on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, date, pear, apple, light banana, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, light pepper, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, date, pear, apple, light banana, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, light pepper, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, date, pear, apple, light banana, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth and lightly creamy/slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Quadrupel style. All around good complexity, balance, and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Shared bomber, snifters. Unnatural dark brown color with almost no head. Boozy plum, sherry aroma. Mild bourbon, vanilla, lots of spice . The complexity is intriguing but a bit too much nutmeg and pumpkin pie.

I’ve had this straight from the can and in various glasses. Pale straw color. Big, big head so it must be opened and poured carefully; susceptible to gushing if the can is even slightly shaken. Mild, clean taste of bready, sweet malt; hints of grass and spice. I really like this, glad it comes in pint cans.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, mango, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, berry, light pine, honey, caramel, light toffee, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops, citrus zest, and moderate malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big tangerine, mango, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, berry, light pine, honey, caramel, light toffee, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, mango, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, lemon/orange zest, berry, light pine, honey, caramel, light toffee, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice robustness, balance, and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops, citrus zest, and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, fairly creamy, and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice fruited DIPA. All around great robustness, balance, and complexity of citrus/tropical hops, citrus zest, and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at Hopcat Ann Arbor. Pours a slightly gold amber with a white head. Bourbon aroma, very sweet. Very sweet flavor as well of course, bourbon, cereal, maple syrup, candy, slightly citrusy. Maybe I just ate and drank too much before this, but the sweetness is just a couple notches too much. Still enjoyable enough.
