Description
AC Golden is a small-batch brewery nestled within the walls of the Coors brewery in Golden, CO. Named in tribute to our founding brewmaster and eternal entrepreneur, Adolph Coors. The thought was to carve out a space that gave our brewers enough runway to invent, explore, and roll up their sleeves to brew exceptional beers that have a story to share. Just like Adolph Coors did back in 1873.

Admin Note: Brewery is located inside the Coors Production facility. Home of the Colorado Native Brand.

Tap @ Avery SourFest III. Dark red/amber appearance with little head. Minimal carbonation. Mild black cherry, slightly vinous, oaky aroma. Fairly tart, dark grape/vinous, light earthy, moderate cherry flavor. Not as good as some of the other AC Golden sours. Update: bottle @ Doodler. Lots better.

Tap @ Avery SourFest III. Brown appearance with really no head. Dark grape, a bit woody, vinegary, unpleasant aroma. Very light carbonation. Dark berry, red grape, earthy, leather flavor. This one just seemed off to me and my least favorite AC Golden sour to date.

Tap at Rackhouse, served in a champagne flute - headless beer - looks like cranberry juice - quite tart up front, lightly briny - sweet berry notes through the middle (raspberry, cranberry) - then some leathery notes and fairly strong oak and mild grape must - strong acetic character late, leaving a vinegary finish - little balance- too acetic - but some nice things going on through the middle.

Small white rim over clear golden beer. Lemon, delicate aroma as from lemonblossom, lemonpeel. Nice lemony flavour, Chardonnay wine, fruity, peach, mineral component. Superbly fine palate, light to medium bodied. Superbly peachy top.

Tap @ Rackhouse. Dark reddish appearance with not much head. Dark grape, plum, pretty tart, light cherry, somewhat funky aroma. Pretty tasty tart, dark grape, cherry/berry, lightly funky, a touch cheesy, quite sour flavor again with a quite sour finish like the others from AC Golden. Intense but good.
