Tap at the DIA venue. Pours dark amber/brown with a beige head. "Brown roast" malt aroma. Flavor is medium caramel with definite chocolate, though not much. Enough bitter to be noticeable. Nice. (not getting any nuttiness though)

Aroma of figs and malt plus some chocolate. Medium, smooth body with flavors of dark fruit, malt, chocolate and a bit of sweet honey. The finish is sweet malt with a chocolate finish. 10th October 2008. GABF. Hazy brown beer. Soft palate, low carbonation. Lots of whisky which is smooth and not smoky. Dy whisky finish. Couldn’t taste any hops here but nice enough beer.
