Urban Artifact is Ohio’s home for sour beer; located in the historic St. Patrick’s church in Cincinnati. With a special emphasis on fruit beers, they have created a niche with their signature overfruited Midwest Fruit Tart style focusing on balance, drinkability, and real fruit. Brewing a bevy of different sour beers, from the standard German style gose, to the exotic spontaneously fermented barrel aged sour with a wide variety of different fruits, there is sure to be something new and exciting to explore. We are currently on pace to use over 400,000 lbs of real fruit this year alone!
Our Northside, Cincinnati taproom is open seven days a week, with food service provided by Wildfire Pizza Kitchen. We host live music five nights a week at the Radio Artifact Live stage, and make the historic church sanctuary, The Reliquary, available for receptions and events.
Radio Artifact, the Urban Artifact hosted independent music radio, can be listened to on 91.7FM HD2 in Cincinnati or live streaming online at radioartifact.com
light purple can. Not much nose but something fruity is there, just barely. Pretty beer, pinkish with a smooth creamy head. First taste is refreshing and bubbly. Smoother sizzle. Quite refreshing, just like a gose should be, not to tart and just a tad of salt with a well balanced fruit background. Quite yummy and much better than expected. Tasty fun good stuff. Good job there UA! You'd never even know there was alky in this, be careful, goes down way too easy.
Can. Murky purplish coloured beer with a light head. The aroma fruity black cherry, and the flavour is vibrantly fruity with some fizzy and sourness. Overall a nice fruity black cherry and gently sour beer.
Can at home. Very purple pour small head. Nose is funky berry and some citrus acid. Tastes of lush blackberry, some grass, raw dough, cherry, lemon hint of vanilla. Hides the abv very well. Fruity and interesting
Sample at Urban Artifact during The Extinction Event: Natural Wine & Spontaneous Beer Fest on 09/28/2019. The beer is a hazy bronze-amber color with a medium thick white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of tomato, citrus, celery and pepper. Light-bodied with flavors of spiced tomato, black pepper, lime and celery. The finish is a mildly spicy Bloody Mary. Unique beer for sure, and decent overall.
Sample at Urban Artifact during The Extinction Event: Natural Wine & Spontaneous Beer Fest on 09/28/2019. Cloudy dark yellow pour with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Fruity aroma with pawpaw and wheat notes. Medium to full body with a sweet-tart pawpaw character and notes of wheat, vanilla and malt. The finish is fruity with a pawpaw aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
