Sample at the Columbus Microbrew Festival on 09/16/2012: This beer pours a mostly clear bright golden color with a medium thin and fizzy white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops, wheat and malt. Light, crisp body with a mildly bitter herbal hops character with touches of sweet malt and fruit in the background. The finish is lightly bitter with a lingering hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Very nice pour frommah bottle; lots of sediment on the bottom of this bottle. Rocky head tho not creamy. Ever so slight light aroma of old cigarette. Good co2 from the start but it fades after a while. First taste does shed some light on this style, which I forgot since the last. Somewhat odd in flavor, but I must say it is on style fer sure. A simple easier keller which I could live with.

Bottle from bittermestupid - thanks greg! Pours light amber/copper with a 2 finger foamy white head. Aroma is a combo of mild cat pee over floral and mild roast malt. Med+ body. Flavor is moderate cat pee over floral and moderately roast malt. It is frickin delicious ale. Finishes smooth, bitter and tasty.

Very drinkable. Slightly bitter; nice malt balance; solid taste from sip through after taste. This went down quickly. I’ll have another, please!

Bottle @ home, courtesy of JStax. Thanks! JetsonFest II. Clear reddish brown with a cream colored head. Nutty, a touch smoky, sweet maple, caramel aroma. A bit sharply sweet, thick caramel, dull ashy smoky, sweet malty flavor. Ok.

Cask version at Barley’s 9th Annual Mini RAF (05/12/12): This double dry hopped iteration is a hazy yellow-orange color with a medium thin foamy white head that diminishes to an outer ring quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, citrus and hops. Medium body with a nice oaky character and notes of citrusy hops, toasted coconut and malt. The finish is oaky with a hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Sample at the Big Tap In after-party at Vintage Estates on 04/21/2012. This beer is a murky ruddy brownish-amber color with a thin light beige head that dissipates quickly. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, dark malt and butterscotch. Full-bodied with a boozy bourbon character and notes of caramel malt, toffee and hops. The finish is oaky bourbon and butterscotch. Good beer all around.

Sample at Gallo’s Tap Room. The beer pours a clear copper color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is malty with notes of hops and fruit. Medium body with equal parts sweet malt and hops flavors, plus some ripe fruit in the background. The finish is malty up front with a bit of earthy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

12 oz draft at the brewery in Columbus, Ohio. This was sold as a "Triple IPA", though the bartender did mention it had some Barley Wine characteristics. The pour is a hazed cheddar orange with a small off white head. Thick sheeting of lace are left behind as the beer goes down. The aroma is citrus hop, floral, and then a decent amount of honey sweetness. The taste is honey floral sweet, clove yeast, then a solid shot of booze in the back. A bit overwhelming for my tastes, the honey cloyed a bit. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, and a weird honey sweet clove booze finish. Pretty unrefined and over the top for me.

Shaker pint draft at the brewery in Columbus, Ohio. The pour is a yellow golden with a minimal off white head. The aroma is pineapple tropical fruit, general sweetness, and a touch of alcohol heat. The taste is the pineapple citrus, along with some bright orange fruit, a touch fruit stripe gum, some sweet and thin malt, then finishes with a light alcohol heat. This lacks a bit brightness. The palate is medium to light bodied, full active carbonation, a dry pineapple booze finish.
