On draught at Bob’s Bar during the CBC Christmas party on 12/10/2010. The beer is a slightly hazy copper-amber color with a medium thin and somewhat foamy off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Hoppy aroma with some sweet spice notes. Medium body with flavors of spiced hops, pine, ginger and malt. The finish is hoppy with a lingering spice aftertaste. As billed this is a hopped up Christmas beer, and as with most other entries in the Hop Odyssey it is good.

On draught at the brewpub as part of the Hop Odyssey series. Pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium thin and foamy beige head that recedes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Citrusy aroma with caramel malt notes. Medium body with a pretty even balance of citrusy hops and earthy malt and caramel flavors. The finish is moderately hoppy up front and leaves a lingering malt aftertaste. Above average Altbier overall.

On draught at Byrne’s Pub for "Hellbilly Hop Night" on 10/12/2010: The beer pours a clear orange-amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Piney hops aroma with malty undertones. Medium body with a moderately hoppy character that is resiny and piney. Sweet malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sample at the North Market Columbus Microbrew fest on 09/26/2010: This brwew is a dark brown color with a thin and foamy light beige head that recedes slowly. Strings of lacing on the glass. Hoppy aroma with charred malt and fruit notes. Medium body with flavors of hops, malt, graham crackers and caramel. The finish is mildly hoppy up front and leaves a lingering burnt malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Aroma of spiced hops and earthy malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character that has spice and resin notes. Malty undertones as well. The finish is hoppy with a toasted malt aftertaste. Another solid entry in this monthly series from CBC.

On draught at Gallo’s. This beer pours a clear golden color with a medium thin white head that evaporates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and fruit along with a touch of yeast. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops profile offset by sweet malts and yeast. Fruity notes in the background. The finish is hoppy with a mild spice and yeast aftertaste. As with the majority of beers thus far in the Hop Odyssey, this is decent stuff.

On draught at the brewpub. This beer pours a hazy orange-gold color with a thin off-white head that burns away steadily. Thin strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruity wheat and hops. Light, crisp body with a wheaty character that is infused with a good amount of hops. Some fruity notes as well. The finish is wheaty up front and leaves a citrus and hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

On draught at the brewpub. The beer is a dark brown color with a reddish tint around the edges. Medium thin beige head that diminishes steadily, and patch lacing. Aroma of roasted nuts and hops. Medium body with a moderately hoppy character that has notes of roasted malt and nuts behind it. The finish is chocolate malt with a hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

My friend Travis brought this one from out of state to the annual Memorial Day party. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-amber color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma was light sweet apricot. The flavor was tangy with faint apricot and a touch of nut. The beer turned a bit dry towards the finish and had light lingering apricot. Ok.

On draught at the brewpub. This beer is a lightly hazed golden yellow color with a thin and bubbly white head that burns away steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Saaz hops aroma that has spice and citrus notes. Light and crisp body with flavors of spicy hops, herbs, citrus and malt. The finish is mildly bitter hops with notes of fruit in the aftertaste. Decent overall.
