Tap at their Hakata Station taproom. Golden bronze color with lace. Nose is orange, piney hops, golden malt. Crisp, well balanced, traditional tasting APA. Solid enough.

Draft @ Haneda Airport. Cloudy dark orange featuring a decent white head. Aroma of mangos, pineapple, papaya and passion fruit. Taste of the fruit salad mentioned above plus malts and caramel. Moderate to strong but lasting bitterness. Strong carbonation. Balanced and very nice.

I’d not heard anything about this beer but the label said lager and it was a collaboration between two solid breweries so I decided to give it a go, the fact it was on sale probably also helped seal the decision. Fukuoka x Black Tide Far and Away South Terpene-infused Lager 5.5% Nice matte opaque gold with thick off-white foam. The initial aroma was quite herbal/piney hoppiness. Medium bodied with a fairly smooth mouthfeel. The taste is more subtle stone fruit than juiciness. I’d say this is an IPL but also that it’s lost some of its luster due to age (BTB 9/30/2023) though it’s still an alright beer, I wonder how it was fresh…

Fukuoka Craft is a newish brewery from Kyushu but they’ve been building up a reputation for good hazy beers and solid beers overall. I love seasonal beers so had to order this: Fukuoka Craft Nomubai! Oktoberfest Lager 6% Lovely orange gold with thin off-white foam and a crisp honey graham aroma. Very much malty sweet honey and graham flavors on a crisp clean medium body. Possibly a touch too sweet for some but pretty damn nice.

Can. Pours a hazy yellow hue with a medium white head. A big sweet fruity nose. Pulp, sweet oranges, toast, melons, more tangerines. Good. Very juicy.

Got a new mug from a friend! Fukuoka Craft Double Time Double hazy IPA 9% Amber orange in color with an off-white/almost beige head of foam. It has a nice rich juicy stone fruit aroma while the medium to full body is quite smooth. At first, it had some hop burn as hell as boozy heat but as it warmed it vanished leaving just some pleasant mild warmth in my belly. The flavor started off stone fruit but as it warmed became richer and juicier adding papaya and mango notes. This one definitely grew on me.
