22oz bottle pours a murky, deep brown with some cloudy, brown head. Nose has an odd hit at first, some root veg, soil,, some spice, a little crayon. Flavor has persimmon, crayon, some mild spice, a little ketchup. Dry finish. Odd.

Bottle at the main DC December gathering. Poured a dark brown color with a small wispy tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, light chocolate. Pumpkin is pretty well hidden. Flavor was about the same - a touch in need of refinement. The pumpkin doesn’t shine through too much since it’s a porter - the same thing happened to me when I made a pumpkin porter years ago. I thought it was fine otherwise.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is farmhouse normal with yeast and light fruit. Taste is dry and slightly sweet. Not too light bodied. Very well put together. Nice from this new brewery.
