The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts with some hops. This beer turned out to be more on the porter end of things. The hops were somewhat muted but the roasted malts and chocolate flavors. That being said, this was not a bad hoppy porter. I just wouldn’t go so far as to call this a black IPA.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours brown with a small head. Aroma, especially at first is really heavy with roast hazelnuts, but there is also some sugar and chocolatey malts. Taste is slightly sweet. Obviously quite nutty. Mostly just a sessionable brown ale with more nuts than usual.
