Served from bottle at Omission event at FatPour Tapworks. Yes, I’ve notched it up a bit for being "good" as a glutoen-free beer goes. Color is a little more brown than pale ale copper in its glass. Still exhibits a nice malty and bitter hop smell. Taste is pretty forward on malts, with a basic pale ale hop background. Some orangey notes thread themselves in as I travel further down the glass. Not an "extreme" pale ale, but it starts to pick up some hop zing as it warms. Probably just being a little cautious, since the malts are modified for the GF process. Then again, there’s almost a fresh cut hop taste at the finish.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large frothy off-white creamy head. Good head retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of spicy, herbal hops with toasted, caramel malts. The taste is floral, herbal, green hops with caramel malts. Medium bodied, some residual sweetness. Nice gluten free beer.

Purchased at Evolution Wine & Spirits in Chicago, IL; enjoyed during the work week. This one wasn’t very good, omitting a lot of flavor but for the most part one of the better gluten-free beers I’ve had. Still, nothing special or especially good.

12 oz bottle at Widmer sponsored Celiac Awareness event & launch. Pours a basic lager color. Just a few bubbles streaming in the glass, but a bubbly foam head on top. A decent malt smell with no offsetting notes. Taste is similarly rounded and pretty malty. I’m catching a very slight edge of DMS, but just a slight one. Fuller even than most mass-marketed lagers. Maybe it could use a slightly hoppy bite at the end so we know we;ve had one.

A friend gave this to me to try but I didn’t realize it was gluten free until now. Pours a crystal clear deep golden straw color with a smallish white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of spicy hops and sweet bready pilsner malt with a bit of a strange tartness that I can’t put my finger on. The flavor holds a bit of spicy noble hops, a bit of pilsner like malt flavor and again a strange tartness that I wasn’t expecting. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a watery spritz y mouthfeel. Decent beer, really nothing special but probably the best GF beer I’ve tried. I rated this a bit higher just for the gluten free factor, If I were gluten intolerant I would probably get used to this.

12 oz bottle. I picked this up today because it seemed interesting. I had no idea what it was. The Widmer logo is on it, but it’s faded and hard to see on the label. It’s like the brewers were purposely trying to distance this from their normal lineup. The slogan on the label "It isn’t just what we took out, it’s what we left in" intrigued me. I figured it was either gluten-free, alcohol-free, or something else entirely. It certainly doesn’t say what it is on the label. Once I got to researching it, I realized it was indeed gluten-free. Anyway, aroma consists of piney hops and bready malt and doesn’t smell rancid like most gluten-free beers. That being said, it’s not particularly memorable for your average APA. It pours hazy orange with a medium collapsing off-white head that leaves some lace. Taste is remarkably good for a gluten-free beer, but it’s completely average for an American Pale Ale. It starts out lightly sweet and finishes with a little bitterness. Carbonation is minute and the body is medium to thin. It’s very smooth and drinkable. The best thing about this beer is that it will be the first thing I reach for if I ever develop an allergy to gluten.

12 ounce bottle from the Utah State Store. Pours a clear copper color with a small white head. A sweet lemony nose. The flavor is decent: like the lager, this is a smooth light bitter flavor, certainly some cascade, a bit of honey. Very drinkable, a darn good gluten free.

12 ounce bottle from the 3300 S State Store. Pours a somewhat cloudy yellow color with a medium white head. A light nose of floral hops and biscuit. Pretty decent, clean, light fruit, big sweet grains. Totally different than other gluten free beers. Quite good in that sense.

This beer is a crystal clear pale yellow color with a medium fizzy white head that burns away steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of mildly bitter floral hops, biscuit malt and grass. The finish is short and lightly hoppy. Run of the mill overall.

Had no idea this was gluten free when I bought it - bought as a single - nothing on the label states as such - oh well - clear orange, with a rather thick lace and some fine suspended particulate - nose of earthy hops and tropical fruit, a bit of honeyish sweetness - flavor is a bit sweet up front, but it dries out as the hops come to the fore, bringing notes of tropical fruit, peppery character - a bit of a biscuit note and ginger on the tail end - surprisingly good for a gluten free beer.
