Location: Draft at the Stewed Cow, 12/28/13

Aroma: The aroma has some nice hop notes of pine and a little citrus, with some caramel
Appearance: It pours a reddish color (dark for the style), with a beige head
Flavor: The flavor is medium hoppy, and leans bitter, with some malty balance as well
Palate: The body is medium, it has a nice, clean feel, and a somewhat dry finish as well
Overall Impression: I just added this one, and rumor has is that this benefits those who got hit by Sandy the worst. So as another beer from our state would say, "FU Sandy!" I actually thought this was quite good, and my favorite thing I've tried from NJ Beer Company.

Location: Draft at Little Town NJ, 4/25/13

Aroma: The nose is fairnt roasted malts, some coffee, and a bit of chocolate
Appearance: It pours a basically black color with a small head on it
Flavor: The taste is similar to the nose, roasty and a little sweet, on the bland side
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a decently creamy feel, and a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: This one is not a favorite for me. I really want NJ Brewing to be good because they are so close, but their beers are just a little dull...

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours medium amber with a frothy/fizzy off-white head. Aroma is sort of earthy/floral with underlying caramel. Med body. Starts earthy, gets some malt after the carbonation lifts off. No question it’s bitter. Unusually earthy to me. We’re talkin mushroom, not funk.

Location: Draft at Hoboken Bar & Grill, 1/30/11

Aroma: The nose is somewhat yeasty, some spice, citrus, and a bit of straw
Appearance: It has a hazy golden pour with a white head and light lace
Flavor: The flavor is a bit on the dull side, what is there is similar to the nose
Palate: The body is light-medium, leaning toward the thin side, fairly short duration
Overall Impression: Overall, I wasn't particularly impressed by this one. So far I haven't really seen too much from New Jersey Beer Company, but I'll keep giving them more chances as this area could sorely use a good micro-brewery.
