Bottle, no visible date. Murky amber with a near white head. 3- Subdued aroma of grapefruit, pongy tropical fruit, toffee. Full bodied, moderate to low carbonation. Sweet, boozy and slightly unclean with sticky bread crust, some dried and stewed fruit -- but enough punchy grapefruit to balance and lighten it into the fairly bitter finish. The name and description's a bit of a tedious throwback, but whilst the beer's not at the cutting edge of fashion, it's pretty good.

Bottle. Black with a large beige head that lasts very well. Aroma of sweet coffee, some earth, roasted malt, licorice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Turns out not to be that sweet. Lots of coffee, some caramel and chocolate, firm bitterness that swoops in late. Solid drop.
