Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy irregular beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: mocha, coffee, grains, roasted malts, little fruity. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: dark chocolate, some caramel, bit sweet, mocha, bit of coffee, little sour, liquorice, red berries. Sorry, in Finnish this time: Miltei musta, todella runsaasti vaahtoava olut.

Dark brown color. Intense tobacco, molasses, dark chocolate, dark fruit, fairly smokey. Lovely intense nose. The mouth is medium full with lots of brownies and molasses notes. Mouth is a bit weak, but I love the smokiness and roasted malts. Nice brininess and a touch salty. Really lovely. Nice lingering roasted malty finish with moderate bitterness. The yeast is a bit funky Belgian, but nothing too wild, which works well. The nose is fantastic and the rest of the beer is very good.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Thanks to Josh, never thought I would get to try this. Opaque dark brown beer with a small pale tan head. Palate is soft and a little dry. Smooth dark malts with nicely rounded vanilla. Touch of wood. Mellow dark fruits underneath. Whisper of aniseed. Nice.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to Mr Charles Chaplain for another Aussie tick, 13/11/13. Mid black with a good sized tan head. Nose is light roast, bourbon infused, dark fruits, soft oaky booze, mellow, dark toffee exhaust. Taste comprises light roast, dark chocolate, bourbonic woodness, molasses, toffee fudge. Full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate. Decent BA impy, the bourbon is pretty subtle, nice work.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, big thanks for Josh for another OZ tick, 13/11/13. Mid black with a good sized tan head. Nose is roast malt, dark chocolate, light booze, brown sugar, upfront and straightforward for the style. Taste comprises roast malt, molasses, bitter chocolate, dark fruits, muscavado sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, nice roasty tones in the closure. Decent enough impy, lacks depth to be a great but a fairly easy drinking number.

The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, pretty dry, light metallic notes, wood, aniseed, alcohol warmth, vanilla and marshmallow. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Tasty and well-balanced. A great beer to end the night with!
