About
In 1872 Friedrich Eder, the founder of the brewery, acquired the brewery and restaurant "Zum Ochsen", which has been known since 1779. This was the nucleus of today's brewery in Grossostheim. In the following decades the company grew steadily.

Since 1999 the Schlappeseppel beers are brewed here.

Bottle at home. #20 of my advendkalender. Golden beer, small head, aroma is malt, spices. Taste is malt, spices, sweet with some bitterness. Hmm average.

0,5l bottle at home shared with gf. BB 02/2016. orange quite hazy / light cloudy color, rather big white head. smells ripe fruits, spices, peach, light sweetness, banana, some tobacco, a bit of grass, OKish smell. medium body, bubbly carbonation, slick mouthfeel. has a very light taste, at first a lot of carbonation is noticeable, after it clears there is not so much taste left over. tastes of spices, peach, lightly citric, yeast, some light hop notes, grass, tobacco. finishes lightly dry with notes of grass and spices. the first 3 sips the taste was very watery, but with subsequent sips it gets a lot better. Overall decent beer.

Bottle from Carrefour. Clear golden coloured with a white head. Aroma is malty, grainy, some sweetness, grassy hops. Flavour is malty, grainy, bit of bread, bit of cardboard, very subdued hop bitterness, med-high carbonation. Finish is dry.

50cl bottle. Pours clear deep golden colour with a mid-sized white head. Aroma of sweet malt, bread, cereals. Taste is sweet malty, grainy, cereals, mild hops.

Bottle 750ml. @ [ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2015 (TEODRBSG15) ] - fonefan & Brugmansia House, Denmark. [ As Ederbräu Brauwerkstatt Weizenbock aus alter Zeit ].Unclear matt medium orange yellow color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat, pale malt, moderate yeasty, fruity, sweet yeast, banana notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, banana, yeast, wheat, butterscotch notes. Body is medium, texture is watery - creamy, carbonation is soft. [20150829]

500ml bottle. Opaque, bright yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy malty and minimally grainy aroma, a protein touch. Taste is spicy malty, minimally grainy and doughy, a touch of protein, minimally tart and fruity hints of pear.

Weicher herber Antrunk. Getreidenoten, von da an konstant mit leichter Süße. Ein süffiges Bier aber absolut ersetzbar durch hunderte andere. 9/8/9/8/5/8
