Draught @ Brewdog Helsinki. Poured pitch black with a thin brown head. Woody on the nose, some vinous elements, mild tartness. Hint of vanilla perhaps. Flavor is awesome with salty licorice, roastedness, oatmeal and vanilla. Quite complex brew. I like the slight tartness in both aroma and flavor. Feels woody, at the same times good drinkability. Long finish.

(Keg at Sivukirjasto, 20161226) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, vanilla, ash and mildly vineousness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, vanilla, cocoa, dark chocolate, burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A tasty burnt brew with woody notes.

Smell of mango, some citrus. Hazy amber colour, very high white head. Starts off with mango, hits a bit later with lots of hops and spruce. Also some honey. Mildly sweet, bitter. Very flat carbon. Thick, viscous texture, oily palate. Good but nonsurprising.

33cl bottle from Alko. Poured golden color with a thin white head. Grassy, floral notes, malts, hops. Dry, hoppy lager with fruity notes, malts and grass. Strong bitterness in finish. Pleasant finish really. Some diacetyl lurking in the shadows, but doesn’t bother me here.

33cl bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours very dark mahogany, close to black, with with a modest, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, citrussy and piney hops, hints of licorice, chocolate and dark fruits. Moderate sweet with nice balance between roasty and hoppy and a decent bitterness. Certainly enjoyable.
