Can. Very dark brown with a light tan head that lasts well. Aroma of earthy coffee, chocolate, nectarines, pine. Light bodied, smooth textured. A little dry, roasted flavour with the mocha. Stone fruit gets lost. Dryish and moderately bitter finish. Solid drop.

A really nice black IPA. Notes of coffee and chocolate with some pine and stone fruit, leading to a chip-dry finish.

A really nice malt-driven IPA. The aromas of pine, grapefruit, watermelon and orange peel mix with dough, biscuit and honey. A slightly-too-sharp pine flavour is the only discordant note in the mouth. Other than that, perfectly balanced. Bottle from the brewery (still doing pick-ups during COVID).

Tap GABS Melbourne 19. Red. light fruity, clean. Dryish with some hints of tannin at end. A bit empty but refreshing.

Tap @ GABS. Cloudy gold with a white head that lasts OKish. Full but clean lager texture. Malty with bread, some biscuit. Moderate sweetness. Distinct floral & peppery bitterness. Wouldn't have minded more. Brewers are of Czech origin and it shows.

Bottle. Deep gold with a large white head. Aroma of tenor-register citrus, sticky bread crust, hints of tropical fruit, pine. Clean and not as sweet as expected, but with a touch of caramel as though the mandarins and kumquats were grilled a little. Not a lot goes on until a little pine with the gradually gripping medium high bitterness. Pretty good but kind of forgettable.

Bottle. Deep gold with a large white head. High bead. Aroma of Seville oranges, passionfruit, crackers. There's no date on the bottle (which may well stop me buying it again) but seems ripplingly fresh. Fruity and perhaps a little thin with a dry but not particularly bitter finish (which works well). Good.

GABS Auckland 2018. Pours pale gold. Mango, pineapple, lemon juice, not too much flavour. Medium body. Nothing wildly exciting.
