(Bottle 50 cl) Deep dark amber color. Appears slightly hazy, possibly beacuse it’s cold. With a small, tight head. Some impurities, probably this beer is unfiltered. That might be why they call it "ur". Distinct but not crushing bitterness. Fresh but not too much body. 230803

(swing top bottle) Cloudy and dark hazelnut body with a medium foamy off-white head, which turns into a creamy layer. Aroma of malty caramel, herbal hops and a bit yeast. Smooth taste of roasted malts with a well balanced bitter hoppy finish and a hint of fruitiness. Quite complex and enjoyable. This one comes close to the classics from Düsseldorf.

(bottle) red to brown body with short white head. Faint but malty aroma. Toasted malts at the start with a hoppy dry & short finish. Typical industrial Alt.

(bottle) Pale amber colour with medium frothy off-white head. Slight aroma of toasted malts and some fruity but also soapy elements. The taste is medium bitter with some light roasted maltiness and a dry bland finish. Thin bodied and rather disappointing.

Clear orange color, medium off-white rocky head. Aroma is malty and hoppy, typical of an altbier. Sweet malty taste, bitter. Quite typical altbier, one of the better german styles.

(draught) Red-brown ale, nearly garnet; slim but stable, very dense head, cream-coloured. Faint caramel nose - rather sweet and very faint. Roasted, delicate bitterish-sweet taste, a bit spicey (garden herbs). A flavour not unlike Maillard. medium-bodied, slightly slick, even oily MF. Nice Alt, not anywhere near the Düsseldorfer classics, but at least equal to the industrial ones. Fine toasted taste marks this.

Malzig-herber, leider auch trockener Antrunk. Die Malzaromen sind gelungen, werden aber immer wieder von der Trockenheit unterbrochen. Herb, trocken, daher oft unausgewogen. Trinkbares Altbier. 6/7/7/6/5/6

Amber color; creamy head. Malty aroma, a bit metallic. Thin mouthfeel, with light malt and some more caramel; ending with a strong bitterness. Absolutely ordinary.

A brown beer with a small but fast disappearing head. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty - very faint aroma. The flavor is lovely sweet and malty with notes of roasted malt and maybe some münchner malt. It has a pretty good bitterness. A fine beer without being great.

Bottled. Nut brown. Roasty, bready aroma. Sweet and clean with hard mouthfeel and dry, harsh, salty finish.
